I did this last year, and will do so again this year. Basically, for those interested, please post your top-10 teams. The results will be used by College Hockey Weekly for their power rankings, so we as posters have the unique ability to have our voices heard. Anyway, if you wish to have your vote counted by CHW, please have your vote in by Tuesday, October 30th, at 12:00pm Eastern Time.
My Top 10:
1 - Boston College - The Eagles have a difficult game today against Lowell, but given the struggles of the teams below, they stay at my #1.
2 - Cornell - The Big Red won two tight games over WCHA foe Colorado College. Cornell will be a force to be reckoned with out East this year.
3 - Denver - The Pioneers are averaging 5 goals/game early in the season...from a team that was expected to struggle to score...and a team with the best goalie situation in college hockey. That should scare everyone outside of Denver.
4 - Minnesota - The Gophers had some struggles against the USA U-18 Team, but people need to remember that it was just an exhibition. If they have similar struggles today against Canisius, then there might be reason to worry.
5 - Western Michigan - The Broncos did not play this weekend, but face a difficult test against Notre Dame next weekend.
6 - New Hampshire - The Wildcats took 3 points against Northeastern to remain undefeated...the only such team in Hockey East.
7 - Notre Dame - The Irish went up to Northern Michigan and got the sweep over a solid Wildcat squad, setting up an early season showdown next weekend against Western Michigan.
8 - North Dakota - UND dominated their game on Friday, but had struggles on Saturday for the second weekend in a row. If this time finds consistency, they will be a top 3 team in the country, but they are not right now.
9 - St. Lawrence - The Saints were off this weekend, and square off against Independent Alabama Huntsville next weekend. Anything less than 2 solid victories is unacceptable.
10 - Harvard - The Crimson came out strong against a solid Bentley squad, and host Brown and Yale next weekend.
Honorable mention:
Union
Massachusetts Lowell
Miami
SCSU
Boston University
