$50 for Center Ice this year? Seems like a good bargain, assuming the games are in HD. I've noticed with the free preview, not all the games are in HD.

Paul McLean has an evil twin.

Not Paul McLean got the boot.

What a great day. Went to the Bruins-Jets game, sat in the 3rd row of the Loge at about the faceoff dot, right next to where Rene Rancourt came out to sing the Canadian and US National Anthems.

Our puck drop wasn't as dramatic as Toronto's but we did have local hero and Olympic Gold Medalist Aly Raisman do the honors. It was highly entertaining when the captains posed with her after she dropped the puck to see Chara tower over her. It was an outstanding day and the Bruins won 2-1 in a shootout.

Tyler Seguin getting ready for his penalty shot.

My pics are already on Facebook and Twitter; my friend got some awesome action shots which she'll post in a bit.

The Sabres one probably will. The Buffalo Snooze confirmed that RJ won't call it. Of course I don't blame you for wanting to hear your hometown announcers.
I don't generally, but I do if it's Jeanneret.

He's been a bit under the weather. The Buffalo Snooze is calling him "day to day" as if he were a player (of course, for a guy who is in the Hockey Hall of Fame, why not).

I have Verizon FIOS which has 5 Center Ice HD channels and 14 SD channels. I also get 3 MSG channels (Rangers, Islanders, Devils), NHL Network and NBC Sports Network in HD so at anytime I can potentially get 10 games at once in HD not including the regular NBC HD game of the week normally on Sundays. Being in NY, all Rangers, Islanders and Devils games are blacked out on Center Ice so having 10 at once is probably unlikely for me but still possible. I have noticed that in many cases both the home and away broadcasts on Center Ice are in SD but only one of them is on HD. I am thinking of getting it for the $49.99 even though I get more than enough games without it. It is free for me until 1/31 which I think is the case for everyone who has it on their system.

Well, while I find his broadcast work grating (to put it kindly), I certainly wish him a full and speedy recovery.

Surprise surprise, Carlo Cola blew up his shoulder again last night. Wings signed 37 year-old Kent Huskins to a 1-year, $750k deal this morning. He's landing in Detroit about now, and will play tonight vs. Dallas. Brian Lashoff was called up from Grand Rapids yesterday to play in Kindl's place, who's out with a groin problem. At least Lashoff was no worse than Kindl has ever been, and way better than bonehead Quincey.

This is a comedy at this point.

One of the tweets I saw mentioned Huskins as filling the void left by Lidstrom's retirement. I chuckled.

Any guesses on who will be the first coach fired and after how many games? Seeing the Flyers and Rangers both at 0-2 isn't exactly upsetting a lot of fans around the league...

Things could get real interesting in NY if the Rangers get off to a prolonged slump.

13 players were kicked out after this in a game Grand Rapids would win 11-6

I don't think I've ever seen a 3 on 0 in the pros.

Just did in the Hawks/Blues game.

Elliot's gotta make a save, pick up his team. :p

Rockford center Rob Flick and Grand Rapids center Louis-Marc Aubry have been suspended for six (6) games each and Rockford right wing Kyle Beach, Rockford left wing Kenndal McArdle, Rockford left wing Wade Brookbank and Grand Rapids left wing Triston Grant have been suspended for one (1) game each for their roles in an altercation at 11:58 of the second period.

In addition, Rockford head coach Ted Dent has been suspended for two (2) games, and both teams have been fined an undisclosed amount.

The Icehogs are a bunch of co**sucking, cheap-shotting, *hole, d**ouchebag c***s. They've played this way since joining the AHL in 2008. And the Blackhawks promote those little sh*ts to the big club and practically award them metals-of-honor.

The Rockford Icehogs would be a perfect affiliate for the Philadelphia Flyers.
