2012-13 D1 Scores and Results

Re: 2012-13 D1 Scores and Results

Sunday scores in Hockey East, both ties:

Vermont 4, Northeastern 4
Providence 2, New Hampshire 2

Vermont's Brittany Zuback scored the equalizer with an extra attacker and just 30 seconds to go.

Seems some teams benefited from the 4 Nations, while other teams missed their Star player. I'll be curious to see these match ups later in the year.

Confucius say..."It is wise to schedule an off weekend during 4 Nations Cup." Or so I heard.

Yup your right, it was of great benefit to BU that UNH's goaltender Vaattovaara was playing for Finland last Friday. They are fortunate as they could have been shut-out (although it was awesome to see Gilligan back and looking great in goal too). :):)

FYI, I said hi to Vi after Gilligan had a great return...I certainly was not in Finland.

Re: 2012-13 D1 Scores and Results

FINAL: Wisconsin 4, Ohio State 2

The Badgers combine 2 short-handed goals (by Alev Kelter and Blayre Turnbull), a penalty shot tally (by Karley Sylvester), and an empty-netter (by Madison Packer) to knock off the Buckeyes in a game that had 18 penalties called. The Buckeyes got goals from Julia McKinnon (PP) and Danielle Gagne.

Wisconsin held a 13-3 shot advantage after one period, but that was narrowed to 25-22 after the second period and 35-33 at the end.

Re: 2012-13 D1 Scores and Results

UMD 4 SCSU 1 after 2.

All goals in the last half of the 2nd period. Sloppy passing by both teams in the first 10 minutes of the game...UMD corrected, SCSU didn't. UMD scored 2 within about a minute to go up 2-0 somewhat deflating the Huskies. Mott skating miles and making her presence known.

Bulldogs 3-0 at the end of the 1st in St Cloud. 2 PP Goals by Laquette (?), McParland. A nice breakaway snipe by Zoe Hickel.

Sophia Carlstrom in net.

UMD 3 - SCSU 0 after 1.

UMD scored all 3 goals in less than 9 minutes into the game. About 90% of the play was in the Huskies' end...their problems continue from last night. UMD's passing is sharp...a very different looking first period for the 'Dogs compared to last night...substantially better.
