2011 Minnesota Twins: Yoshi, Pavario, and Big Jim's Quest for 600

Re: 2011 Minnesota Twins: Yoshi, Pavario, and Big Jim's Quest for 600

Delmon as a hitter isn't nearly as big of a problem as Delmon the worst defensive left fielder in history.

I completely disagree. If Delmon hit he could do whatever he wanted out in left. That is what corner outfielder is supposed to do.

His hitting has been typically 14th or 15th best in the AL for left fielders, last year I'm guessing he was 7th or 8th best. I'm sure he will hit respectably the rest of the year.

At least we flipped it on the Brewers today.

Let's hope we can put together a nice win streak here to end the first half. Winning the Chicago series is crucial.

Baker going down with a slight elbow sprain won't help. This season SUCKS.

Twins win, despite Capps' best efforts. Perkins gets save number two. Seven games back now.

When will Gardy see enough as enough?

I really, really hope Baker doesn't have anything serious with that elbow. He's now 7-5, with a 3.01 ERA, and starting to have the best season of his career, and show why Minnesota thought he had potential to be an ace in a rotation.

Can't believe we're down to 7 back!

Going to see Liriano pitch today. Hopefully he is of the 'no-hitter' variety stuff today. A nice 2 hour, 10 minute, 98 pitch performance.

Also, if Capps isn't closing when do you bring him in? You can't bench him permanently. We have no other proven closers this season with Nathan still trying to find his old form after injury. Just because Perkins has converted his 2 chances this week, doesn't make him a viable closer. We have no idea if would be any better in the long term.

If he keeps putting guys on base, he has no role other than mop-up duty.

Baby Jesus will play 1st base tomorrow.

Also: "Gardenhire also said struggling right-hander Matt Capps will get a temporary break from the closer's role."

I find it lame that you can half-assedly offer at a pitch and get on base when it hits you in a hand or arm that wouldn't be there if you didn't.

At least they keep calling Rays out at first when they aren't, I guess.

Give him some time off to watch film, see what's up with his mechanics, maybe send him down for a week to regroup, something isn't there.

That wasn't exactly the stuff we were looking for out of Liriano today..typical Liriano though, always keeps you guessing.

Re: 2011 Minnesota Twins: Yoshi, Pavario, and Big Jim's Quest for 600

Whenever they bring anyone in from the bullpen, they should just play circus music. They don't deserve to chose their entrance music, except for Perkins, and Nathan.

Dumatrait blows for his second straight outing as well. Great.

Edit: I forgot Dumatrait pitched yesterday and was fine.

This team ticks me off. The pitching blows, the offense is alright. The pitching comes around, the offense blows. Effing stupid.

Sounds like an average year for a team that should be above average.
