2011 Minnesota Twins: Yoshi, Pavario, and Big Jim's Quest for 600

Re: 2011 Minnesota Twins: Yoshi, Pavario, and Big Jim's Quest for 600

**** the veterans, let's just put AAA guys out there. :p
The biggest difference is the starting pitching, they're not letting the bullpen get out there to **** it up like they were before.

edit: Supposedly they should be getting Mauer, Morneau, Kubel, Thome, Nishioka, Span, Perkins and Nathan back this week. It is a minor miracle that they have won 9 of 11 with that list of players on the DL. That represents the 1,2,3,4,6,7 hitters and the 8th inning setup guy and closer.

No matter what they do, there is no way that they can take Ben Revere out of the lineup at this point. That kid is ready and he has come up huge lately. I wouldn't even move him in the order, when all of the rest come back, I'd bat Span 2nd and Revere 1st, with Nishioka in the 9 hole.

Twins could be 3rd in the AL Central by Sunday night. That's crazy.

Re: 2011 Minnesota Twins: Yoshi, Pavario, and Big Jim's Quest for 600

I would be surprised if we get to play tonight. This doesn't look like it is going to go away any time soon.

Re: 2011 Minnesota Twins: Yoshi, Pavario, and Big Jim's Quest for 600

Cuddy has three SB's tonight. Floyd isn't very good at that, evidently.

Re: 2011 Minnesota Twins: Yoshi, Pavario, and Big Jim's Quest for 600

They're scared of Dinkelman. He was intentionally walked.

Re: 2011 Minnesota Twins: Yoshi, Pavario, and Big Jim's Quest for 600

The starting pitching has been nothing short of amazing lately.

Re: 2011 Minnesota Twins: Yoshi, Pavario, and Big Jim's Quest for 600

We're fast approaching the point in "Major League" where somebody needs to say, "These guys aren't so ****ing bad". :D

Re: 2011 Minnesota Twins: Yoshi, Pavario, and Big Jim's Quest for 600

Yoshi is back.
Hitting 3rd

Re: 2011 Minnesota Twins: Yoshi, Pavario, and Big Jim's Quest for 600

Crap, I have to get out of downtown at about 11 AM, I hope the traffic isn't too bad....

Re: 2011 Minnesota Twins: Yoshi, Pavario, and Big Jim's Quest for 600

This pitching run is getting ridiculous. Blackburn has completed 8, 0 ER, and picked up right where Pavano left off.

6/15 - Pavano - CG, 1 ER
6/12 - Liriano - 8IP, No Hitter through 7, 1 ER
6/11 - Baker - CG, 1 ER
6/10 - Duensing - Sucked
6/9 - Blackburn - 7.1IP, 2 ER
6/8 - Pavano - 7IP, 1 ER
6/7 - Liriano - 5IP, 0 ER (pitch count limited, first start after coming off DL)
6/6 - Baker - 7IP, 3 ER
6/5 - Duensing - 8IP, 0 ER
6/4 - Blackburn - 5IP, 2 ER
6/3 - Pavano - CG, 2 ER
6/2 - Swarzak - 6IP, 2 ER

Re: 2011 Minnesota Twins: Yoshi, Pavario, and Big Jim's Quest for 600

Twins win! 1-0 with Blacky getting through 8 with only 7 hits and Capps finishing it off.

Good news is it finished in 2:10 so the traffic should be pretty cleared out by the time I leave. :D

And Capps didn't blow a one-run lead!

Thats about a 0.8 ERA for the starters in the last four starts, pitching 34 of 36 innings.

Re: 2011 Minnesota Twins: Yoshi, Pavario, and Big Jim's Quest for 600

Mauer officially back on the roster, along with Perkins. Dinkelman is outrighted and James sent down to Rochester. I would guess that Kubel comes back soon and when that happens either Butera or Rivera get to experience the bright lights of AAA again.

Re: 2011 Minnesota Twins: Yoshi, Pavario, and Big Jim's Quest for 600

The pitching is ridiculous, and it has the potential to unleash one of the most ridiculous months ever. Minnesota's next opponents are horse**** on run production, so we can expect some more 2 hour games (since MN is also horse**** on run production). :D
