2011 Frozen 4 Lottery open for St. Paul

Re: 2011 Frozen 4 Lottery open for St. Paul

I'm not sure I feel like floating $400 only to find out I didn't get tickets through the lottery since I'm just a priority 1. It doesn't help that I am closing on a house before the end of this month.

Yes, that's exactly what I would expect. I also think that competition in General Lottery will be the most difficult in years, so being above the bubble level in 2011 will be of considerable value.

If I get in, I will be priority 7. Finally gave them my plastic to apply for FF this morning.

The exact deadline is 11:59 PM ET Tuesday June 1 so those of you in western continental states have only until 8:59 PM. Alaskans will have to determine your own deadlines.

Just buy from people on here as their teams get eliminated/plans change. The lottery isn't worth the hassle, and even if you secure tickets, the seat locations will be flat-out awful.

Yup - my plan too. And I'm thinking that if it doesn't work out, I'll sit in a bar and watch the games and it wouldn't be a travesty. I'm sure there's at least one bar in the area that will show the games. (Minnesota is the state of hockey, right?)

Re: 2011 Frozen 4 Lottery open for St. Paul

THe problem is this one's in St. Paul and if the demand is what it was in 2002, you could pay more than face value for the ticket. Minnesota and Boston in 1998 were the only Frozen Four that I'd consider a "tough ticket". Some of them like Columbus or Buffalo were a joke and you could get tickets for $5 outside the door.

Minnesota is the state of hockey if the Wild or Gophers are involved. :p Otherwise, I don't think most in the Twin Cities care. So, I'd guess most in the area won't even know the Frozen Four is in town that weekend. I just had someone ask me the other day if Minnesota had an NHL team. That said, I guarantee all the bars in downtown St Paul within walking distance of the X will have the games on as they know if something like that is going on nearby.

It certainly could be a tough ticket...I don't plan on waiting until the teams are set, I plan on trying to get tickets around the time the 16 teams are set...there are always surprises and people looking to get face back because something come up or their team didn't make it.

That and since I'm buying a house this week, I'd rather pay $300 next spring than $200 right now.

That's unlikely given that MN hasn't been good since 2007 and has largely the same roster that produced a bottom half WCHA finish and no NCAA berth last season.

F you Bakunin. It's fine to spout about that stuff within the Minnesota thread, but you don't gotta take that **** national

:p

That's OK, just ask the conspiracy theorists about Michigan going from where they were in early January to being a goal away from boosting the attendance in Detroit.
