2011-2012 NCAA Week 7 Rankings

Re: 2011-2012 NCAA Week 7 Rankings

here's mine FS.

1. Merrimack- still undefeated
2. UMD- playing really well lately. making good teams look bad.
3.Notre Dame- very solid and keep picking it up every week.
4.BC- on shaky ground lately, could fall all the way out of the top 10 with another loss next week.
5.OSU- winning two at Michigan is very tough to do
6. CC- it's an advantage for them at home but they win big so..
7. Minnesota- still a great team but what have you done for me lately.
8.DU- seem to have righted the ship and some more home games coming up.
9. Cornell- they start so late it's hard to figure but some great early results
10. Yale- not as good as last years team.

Honorable mention. FSU, Quinny, Union. Teams to watch MSU, WMU.

I love this. Were you at the games? If you were, there's no way in hell you can honestly think that the gophers should have left Duluth with 4 points. Probably not even 2.

other than the fact that they scored more goals in each game, that is.

I don't know about you, but it seems like to me the winner of the game is the team that scores more goals. What does the official score sheet say again?

Re: 2011-2012 NCAA Week 7 Rankings

1. Notre Dame - Battle tested against upper echelon competition and a 9-2-2 record to show for it.
2. Minnesota - They are just **** impressive at times and have arguably the most upside on emerging talent in the country. The 11-3 record doesn't hurt either.
3. Merrimack - The only undefeated team still left in D-I college hockey. If the SOS was tougher, they would be #1. They haven't really been challenged.
4. Minnesota-Duluth - Hottest team in the nation, no doubt.
5. Colorado College - Getting it done, night in, night out. Plotting along, they will be dangerous down the stretch if they can stay healthy.
6. Boston College - Tough competition already in the early part of the season. Holding up well at 9-4.
7. Ohio State - A great start for the Buckeyes in the Worst State Ever.
8. Ferris State - Outside of being swept at Yost, they have been really solid this season.
9. Yale - I'd have them up higher, but they haven't played much and haven't played anyone except Cornell and Union.
10. Denver - Toss up between these guys, Michigan Tech and Cornell. I'll give to Denver on the SOS.

Others with consideration:
Michigan Tech, Cornell, Lake Superior State, Boston University, Union

Merimack? Are you mother fkng kidding?

Ya, UMD would be number one save for one minor detail. They were swept at home by Minnesota!

It sure is fun to see all the Gopher trolls come out now that Minnesota is relevant again. I did not miss it over the last four years. :p:D:D

It has only been a 3-year NCAA Tournament drought. Of roughly .500 hockey. Not up to Gopher standards or fan base expectations, but hardly irrelevant.

Love how people like to exaggerate the slump the Gophers had

And I'm a 20+ year season ticket holder. I just don't have a lot of experience with message boards.

Like the rankings in general but I have trouble seeing QPac as outside looking in. Think Colgate would be more deserving of an honorable mention. But either way looking good.

I find these rankings interesting. The team with the most wins in the nation is ranked everywhere from 1 to 10 basically. :D

Thanks to everyone who has posted their top 10s. Remember, there is about 2.5 hours (1pm Eastern) to post your top 10. I would like to see more representation from the East if at all possible.

You're right. Head to head is meaningless and shot totals are a true measure of a teams success. And obviously most in this thread agree. Congratulations.
