Re: 2011-12 Minnesota Season Thread (Pride On Ice Returns!)
The question is whether they can carry over that focus from Saturday into next week like you said, Koho. CC is a good, high-powered team, but recent weeks have shown they aren't perfect as it took an OT winner against MSU-M before the break, a loss to Air Force in the holiday tourney, and an OT loss to Cloud at home. Definitely a big series for the Gophers. I see a split, but I think 3pts would be a good outcome against a good WCHA opponent.
I just hope that there isn't too much focus on trying to keep up with UMD. UMD clearly has the easier road from here on out and unless they go on a skid, I don't seem them having much trouble staying atop the WCHA. The Gophers need to focus on themselves and fix their own issues(namely the Friday night stinkage and the PP) and focusing on finishing in the top 3 and giving themselves a favorable road to the Final Five.
I laughed. I mean, I was as ****ed as anyone...I hate losing to sue. But the irrational people after the Friday night loss was ridiculous. Had they been swept, I could have seen it but it was one game that, despite their PP being awful in, they were a missed icing call and a softie by Patterson away from tying that game at the very least, IMO.So are people backing away from the edge after last nights game? They seemed to be a lot more focused than they have been in awhile. I especially liked that even when they let up, and UND started to get back into the game, they were able to pick up the pace, rather than just going in a shell and trying to hold on. Let's see if they can carry it into next week.
