2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs III: "Don't Toews Me, Bro!"

Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs III: "Don't Toews Me, Bro!"

LAME.

This is like all the UNH fans who skipped the first night of the Northeast Regional two years ago, because they didn't want to see UNH get killed by NoDak.

I'm not saying the Bruins are going to win (they have to remember how to score first), but think about this logically: if they lose, you're going to be *ed whether you watched the game or not. You're not sparing yourself any heartbreak or agony by not watching. So watch the * game.

I'm not happy right now, but do we have any choice but to watch? Sure, I'd would probably get as much enjoyment watching "Furry Vengeance" or the "Human Centipede", but what if they actually win the game?!?!

Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs III: "Don't Toews Me, Bro!"

I'm not even sure if I want the Bruins to win anymore. They have sucked all the fun and enjoyment of watching playoff hockey. When Lucic scored last night my buddy and I didn't even react. I just cant get excited watching a team play with no heart. And even if they do win I don't want to watch them get smoked by Montreal. The Habs are a perfect example of how the Bruins should be playing. They are showing heart, desire and a will to win.

If they win tomorrow night, you'll regret having posted this.

As much as I wish perpetual unhappiness to all the whining, wheezing, irritating, spoiled, self-absorbed, bandwagon-crushing, troglodytic denizens of Boston, I will be rooting for the B's tomorrow. A Habs-Bruins playoff series is too good an exercise in nostalgia to pass up.

My heart will want them to win but my head doesn't. If they can't score against Michael Leighton then they sure as heck won't score against Halak. I guess I am just so frustrated with watching them play that I don't want to see another series full of lackluster play.

I don't know if this is necessarily true. The Bruins are a team that lives on the so-called "garbage goals", which is the best way to beat Halak. It's really been the only way he's been beaten all playoffs--deflections, rebounds, all goals that you get from grinding for chances and going to the net. Even as thin as they are at center, the Bruins do have the ability to do this well--they just seem to forget that for long stretches from time to time.

If the Bruins win tomorrow, I really expect a very good series. I think the Habs will win eventually, but not easily at all.

You Boston fans are crazy. You'd honestly pass up a berth in the Conference Finals, just because your team has played poorly the last 3 games??

Well my feelings right now are "F it" cause this sucks. I'm okay with them losing if they looked like they cared. But they aren't playing with passion. Its hard to cheer for a team that looks like they would rather be anywhere but in the NHL playoffs.

Let's be fair, this team has never recovered from the Krecji injury, the Cooke hit, the Walker goal, the Thornton trade, the Bourque trade, the Moog trade, Neely's knee, the Klima goal, Léveillé's injury, Too Many men on the ice, Orr leaving the team... sigh.

What was Gonchar thinking on the fourth goal? That he had help on the deep route? That was an unbelievably lazy play, I really have a hard time understanding - was he that gassed?

I didn't think the Crosby call 10 seconds into the game was actually a penalty, but I'm not going to cry over it. ;)

I'd say 79% of fans gave up on getting to the conference finals when the Bruins lost game 4.

If the Bruins are going to lose, I'd rather see them lose to the Canadiens than the Flyers - it will mean they made the Conference Finals.

Are they going to be able to win without scoring? Ryan Whitney* does not play for the Flyers.

If they can't score on Leighton, it's a moot point. If they do score on Leighton, and win, your attitude will change, as they will look like the team from earlier in this series. People won't talk about blowing the 3-0 lead, they'll talk about winning in 7, and about the team that made Ryan Miller look human, not the team that had trouble scoring on Tim Thomas 2.0 (Brian Boucher).

It's one thing to think they're going to lose. It's quite another to want them to lose.

*For those who don't know, Ryan Whitney played for BU in the '03 HE championship game, which UNH won, in OT, 1-0, when Whitney tipped a centering pass into his own net.

I'd say 79% of fans gave up on getting to the conference finals when the Bruins lost game 5.
FYP. They came back and lost in OT in game 4. People started to get nervous, but it was the game 5 drubbing that really sounded the alarm.

Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs III: "Don't Toews Me, Bro!"

Did Bruins fans here watch a different game than me last night?
There was plenty of heart, plenty of passion and some pretty darn good hockey played. No puck luck.

I'll be watching confidently Friday night that the B's will kick some arse.

Injuries have killed them. But I wonder if TIMMAY! has wandered down I-95 and is preaching playing not to lose instead of playing to win.

I wish you guys were more like Leafs fans. Those knuckleheads know gallows humor.

For those of you slagging Michael Leighton, if it wasn't for injury he would've been starting in the playoffs for Philly, Brian Boucher was put back in just because he had the most experience left of who they had. Congrats to the Devils and Bruins for making Brian Boucher seem like Superman.
