Box score
So Russia wins Group A, and moves on with Sweden into the semifinals tomorrow (Friday). Finland falls into the 5th-place game on Saturday.

Wow, that is a big step up for the Russians. They are usually the doormats of the Upper Division.
And this one is over. In the third period, Carolyne Prevost, Bailey Bram, and Brianne Jenner all score even-strength goals for Canada and the Germans didn't get a shot on goal. Final -- Canada 7, Germany 0 on shot totals of 54 to 8.Annie Guay scores the Canadians' 4th power play goal of the game to make is 4-0 over the Germans after two periods. Shots are 35-8.
It looks like there has been a schedule change. The 5th place game on Saturday will be a 4 p.m. local/10 a.m. ET/9 a.m. CT start, probably because host Germany is in that game (against Finland). Saturday's bronze medal game has been moved to the 10 a.m. local/4 a.m. ET/3 a.m. CT matchup. So in the semifinals Friday, it will be Canada vs. Sweden at 10 a.m. ET/9 a.m. CT (4 pm local time in Ravensburg), and Russia vs. Switzerland at 2 p.m. ET/1 p.m. CT (8 pm local). In the 5th place game early on Saturday (10 a.m. local, so 4 a.m. ET/3 a.m. CT) it will be Finland vs. Germany.
So Sweden beats Finland, and then mails it in for the rest of the tournament? Looking at the boxscore, this looks like their Olympic team. Why bother centralizing for a year if the result is that you can't beat Russia nor give Canada U-22 anything resembling a game? With 5 to go in the 1st period
Canada 20 shots Sweden 1
Canada 3 Sweden 0
EDIT: Russia has scored two goals in the first 3:31 of the second period, and lead 2-1.Sweden tied it with 11 seconds left in regulation, 6 on 3.
It would seem likely that Canada should meet the Russian in the final.
Switzerland playing without Schnelling and Marty.
In fact their lineup is missing 10 players in total.
Although the Swiss are leading 1 to 0 on a first period power play goal.
pointstreak.com is back up, and I have confirmation: Switzerland 6, Russia 5, OT Final. Claudia Riechsteiner netted the gamewinner for the Swiss at 2:47 of overtime, shortly after the expiration of a power play. Shots were pretty even at 36-34 in favor of the Russians. Both teams were 3-for-9 on their respective power plays in the penalty-filled contest. The other score reporting site for this tournament is indicating that there was no scoring between Russia and Switzerland in the third period (after the wild 9-goal second period), sending the game to overtime, and that Switzerland has won with an overtime goal.
The box scores from pointstreak.com have failed, so I don't have anything to review.
I'll post details if they become available before I head out for the Univ. of Minnesota game tonight.
