Melvin and Roenicke are going to meet with pitching coach Rick Peterson tonight to see if Roenicke and Peterson hit it off. If they don't, even though Peterson has a year left on his contract, the Brewers probably will make a switch.
"I want to wait until Ron sits down with him and see what happens," said Melvin.
everything I have heard about Peterson is the rienicke is looking into other options. I'm kinda thinking the long time frame means we'll be keeping Peterson.Ryan Braun and Yo win Silver Slugger awards.
Still no official decision on Peterson, but it seems like if they were going to keep him, they would've decided by now.

Sedar is returning, though his role is not yet known. Maybe he can be the pitching coach? He can't do worse."will someone.... ANYONE... PLEASE... be the pitching coach for the Brewers?"
-crickets chirping-
"ok, Peterson's staying"

Rick Kranitz replaces Rick Peterson as pitching coach and Jerry Narron takes over as bench coach as the Brewers just announced their coaching staff under new manager Ron Roenicke.
The Brewers made what appeared to be a stunning move by offering salary arbitration to Hoffman, a Type B free agent. But, in a gentleman's agreement, the 43-year-old veteran agreed not to accept, leaving the club with a high draft pick next year should he sign elsewhere.
Also from the link - Brewers made offers to Eric Hinske, Counsell and Capuano...

big deal, this still does nothing for our pitching staff.

I disagree. I think the staff has been improved.
A good source told me that the Brewers have acquired right-hander Shaun Marcum from the Toronto Blue Jays. I don’t know what the Brewers are sending to Toronto in exchange but the source told me it involved minor-league pitching prospects.
Marcum, who will be 29 on Dec. 14, went 13-8 with a 3.64 ERA in 31 games for the Blue Jays this season. In 120 major-league games, including 95 starts, he has a 37-25 record and 3.85 ERA, much of it pitching in the tough AL East.
