Only a few short weeks away. The Canadian roster has been announced. The US roster should be along any time now. Have any other rosters been announced?

... and from Canada's announcement, here is the field:
Eight teams will compete for the gold medal at this year’s tournament. Group A includes the Czech Republic, Finland, Japan and the United States, while Group B consists of Canada, Russia, Germany and Sweden.

yes - ever since U18 worlds in Germany in 2009 - they are convinced over in Czech republic that to be a top player you need to develop your hockey in USA prep & college environment

Alena Polenska - a freshman at Brown also attended Wyoming Seminary previously

That would be ideal for female hockey in Finland as well. Only way to be more competitive is to have more players overseas. Our national leaque is not at the level from which you can jump into international events like U18s. Our efforts have incresed the number of registered players from 3000 to 4000. From agegroup 1995 on we'll see talented players. 1992-94 quite weak talentwise. In order to fit into NCAA roster you have to be almost national team level player. NCAA teams are not looking for 3rd or 4th liners from Europe. Unfortunately we do not have that many talent here per agegroup.

I've heard the US roster will have changes across the board.

USA Hockey has a deal with Fast Hockey, so I wouldn't be surprised if there were games webcast.

Re: 2010 IIHF World Women's U18 Championship

During the olympics there were fliers that universal sports would have coverage online and on TV

Granted there are some very talented players on the USA team, but as always politics are involved again. Trust me, there are some girls who are not on this team who are better than some of those picked. Not sour grapes just the truth.

If they truly deserve it, they will get their chance! As usual, here we go again!
