Thornton gets named Captain in San Jose.

Any Boston fans making snarky comments will be reminded that Zdeno Chara, your current captain, presided over the events of the week of May 7th to May 14th, 2010.

OK -- I'll get my annual b#@*h out of the way on opening night. Just one early game on the entire NHL Center Ice channel package and do you think they could put it up in HD???

Bettman told me a couple of years ago on his XM Radio show that they have a hard time getting the HD signal from Canada. I call BS on that!

I call BS on a lot of things Bettman has done. :D

If he thought a team in Mexico City would be financially viable, and he could find a willing <s>sucker</s> owner, they'd have one. ;)

Was anyone else watching PHI/PIT? Was it just me, or did that game seem MUCH faster paced than MTL/TOR?

I'm waiting for the Ciudad Juarez Killers to be announced in the next round of expansion.

I thought that was the Devils motto when they moved to Newark. :D

I went to a game there late last season. Called my wife and said I left something at home: :D

Patrice Bergeron signs a 3 year/15M contract extension with Boston.

Post concussion or not, I t hink it is too much money, based upon recent play. We'll see how he does this year.

What, 27 goals in 137 games isn't enough for $5 million?

Jesus. What did we have a lockout for, again?

I think we can all appreciate this quote from Chiarellli that I just picked up:

What was it about this great city that helped get the deal done...the fine wine?....the outstanding architecture?

''No,'' said a beaming Chiarelli, ''it was the Czech beer!''

This also should explain the Andrew Ference, Tim Thomas, and Milan Lucic signings.

Waaaay too much money. The Bruins are still in love with pre-concussion Bergeron. So far he has been nothing but a 2nd or 3rd line guy that is still trying to regain his scoring touch that many thought would make him a legitimate scoring threat.

bah, just read there is no HNIC on NHL Network until Oct 23.

What's this? The voice of reason from a Bruins' fan? ;) :p

Stanley Cup or bust!

What a pass by Thornton to the back of the net!:D

Season's over. Fire everyone and trade the team!
