Re: 2009-2010 Official Vermont Season Thread
Now that the weekend of games is complete, perhaps UVM's loss will not send them as far down in the polls as one would have thought late Friday night. I am thinking they fall to 9 or 10.
#1 Miami lost to Michigan State, #2 North Dakota split with Alaska Anchorage. Michigan State and Alaska Anchorage, like Merrimack, are unranked teams.
Denver shut out Minnesota 2 games and will probably go up in the rankings - the win against Denver on October 10th will help UVM's cause. #3 Boston University did UVM a favor and beat #5 Michigan. Below UVM in the rankings, Notre Dame (who beat Boston University) lost to Boston College (who UVM beat), Minnesota lost 2 games, Nebraska Omaha did not play. UMass-Lowell won 2 games and will probably rise from 13 to maybe 10.
This looks to be one of those seasons where, unlike last year with Boston University, there is not going to be that one dominant team. Parity in college hockey, it is a good thing.
