Re: 2009-2010 Official Vermont Season Thread

this post doesn't even make sense.

just keep in mind that yer buddy umlgoon is always demonstrably correct. AND he knows how to properly utilize your/you're. bonus points!

I have come to the conclusion that you and some of your buddies are not fans of college hockey or to be honest UML either.

You are just fans of yourselves, which is good because I doubt anyone else cares.

Then maybe he could use them in place of "yer."

Put the doubt to rest, it's true no one else cares.

i can assure you that i love lowell hockey more than you have ever loved anything in your life, and have since i was a little boy. i do also love being right, of course, and you'd think for how often i am right about everything to do with college hockey, i'd be sick of it.

i'm not. go 'hawks, go me.

Hi, quick question, are there any plans for a new arena at UVM or do you guys get the feeling The Gutt would be renovated before any new buildings get discussed.... Just curious, thanks!

I think any plans for a new arena have been unofficially tabled due to the bad economy. I believe UVM has a committee that's studying the idea, which is chaired by Ian Boyce, a former star player at UVM from my era. Unfortunately, given the circumstances, I think it's lost a little momentum. I really don't think they'd consider renovating The Gutt--they've done that once already.

I was wrong once. Of course, it was a time I thought I was wrong, but it turned out I was really right.....

UML VS. Top 20

0-1-1

wow exciting.... might as well "raise the banner" now...

You are always right uml******...
just gotta play the games on the schedule, never mind arbitrarily picking an incredibly subjective list against which to measure success. i didn't make either the list or the sked, so your beef ain't with me buckaroo.

p.s. i think you'll find vermont is the one with the banner-raising problem

p.p.s. what is the starred-out word? nothing untoward i hope.

Re: 2009-2010 Official Vermont Season Thread

The new facility is still on the list, it's just not the highest priority. It will get done eventually, but not as soon as hoped given the recession and damage to the modest endowment. We need a philanthropist to show up with $75MM that I'm not willing or able to cover.

The administration needs to create a fund within the Victory Club to assign specific donations to this cause.

Re: 2009-2010 Official Vermont Season Thread

Personally, I'm waiting for UML fans to start bragging about former players dominating the ECHL before I admit that their program has arrived!

There is a huge difference between fans enjoying their teams alum doing well, and the endless navel gazing that goes on with a few UML fans.

it's not like i'm bragging about beating huntsville though am i?
I don't think we bragged about beating Yale and Air Force either (although Yale was well regarded and expected by some to do some damage in the tournament). We did brag about making it to the FF......and rightfully so!

arbitrarily picking an incredibly subjective list??? Why would you not measure success against how well a team does against ranked teams?? Wouldn't this be pretty similar to how the NCAA selection committee is going to do it??

You are correct though, you play the games on the schedule and your AD needs to start scheduling some tough teams. It makes it hard to develop a good reputation and get an at large bid beating up on UAH, UNO, SLU, HC. Maybe next year he can upgrade to games against Air Force and Yale.
