2009-2010 Official Vermont Season Thread : The Sequel

Re: 2009-2010 Official Vermont Season Thread : The Sequel

These Cats certainly do have 9 lives, amazing how many times it seemed like they've played their last game but here they are with another chance to continue the season. Yeah, things have lined up for them and they've got some help along the way but you can't take away the 6-1 ooc record and what it meant in extending their season.

Disgraceful how Downing and Cullity played during the final moments of Fridays game. Lose with class and dignity fella's, they made the whole program look bad with their selfish and childish outbursts on an opponent who simply played great and deserved the 3-0 victory. Lost a lot of respect for both players. As soon as Downing went at Muse I looked at Sneddon and you could see the displeasure. In fact if Stacey is ready to go Friday, I can see Downing shown a nice view from the stands in a sportcoat and tie. Cullity clearly took two runs with a forearm to the head area on BC forwards late when the outcome was determined. I've given him the benefit of the doubt for far too long, that was bush league. Sneddon's post game comments when asked about the possibility of his seniors having played their last game, praised all of the guys and what solid character guys they are naming them all....except for Cullity. Not sure if that omission was on purpose or not.

Think the team is going to look at the upcoming weekend as yet another season hopefully like they did when they went to unh. No one gave them a shot then and I imagine no one will give them a shot now. We all know what a huge challenge the badgers present, but no one gets a bye in this tournament.

They were on the mat with an 8 count after the Lowell weekend and BU bailed them out. Again on the mat after giving up a 4-2 lead to lose 7-4 in game 1 at UNH. Rob Madore did the bailing in the next 2 games. Then reached the count of 9 before BC pulled out the OT win over Maine, after Cornell and RIT did their respective wins to bail out the team.

It is fitting that UVM is playing in St Paul in this regional. The Frozen Four is scheduled for St Paul next season so this will give the underclassmen a chance to see where they would be playing should they be fortunate to be in the hunt next season. Perhaps this trip out west will be the carrot that next year's team uses for focus.

Well said. Picked up on that too. It is ironic that Cullity and Downing have both sat out times in their careers for violating the student code of conduct at UVM.

Hopefully Stacey is back. At 50-60%, he is a better player than some on the roster. He has hockey sense and can pass when a team mate is open. They will need that on Friday night.

Again, great experience to be gained for the underclassmen. I actually think UVM will use the lack of respect to their advantage.

Hey, if they get the win, who cares how it happens?
Both coaches are capable of playing defensive style hockey with that neutral zone trap. It could be a tough game for fans of both teams...heck fans of hockey in general to watch. But if UVM wins, then that would be fine by me...

Were you there or did you watch on TV?

I was there and both times it was the BC player who took the first shot and started the whole thing. Muse hit Downing first whats he suppose to do thank him?

Can't agree with that at all. Downing was held badly by Muse when he was going after a loose puck. The TV analysts saw it and said Muse got away with a penalty. Then the guy goes and does the same friggin thing to Downing a few minutes later. If I were Downing, I'd a gone after him too.

I agree. It wasn't just the trip, it was the blatant holding of his stick while the puck was right there and Downing may or may not have been able to continue to keep it down low and generate some offense. He let that one go and did nothing. Minutes later Muse did the exact same thing holding his stick and then the trip. I think Downing was in the right to give Muse a little shove. Heck he should have shoved him harder. He gave him one chance, if you don't stand up on the second chance the Muse is going to keep doing it.

As for Cullity, well he is Cullity. I have never agreed with his ice time and the A on his shirt. He is a senior leader, and all he does is hurt the team. He eats up a ton of minutes and is one of the grittier players. That I like, but he takes stupid stupid penalties and can't control himself. That said, I wish Miller and Medvec would start laying some hits on people. I miss Sifers. Good clean hits that would rock the opposing players. The D is pretty big and but they don't really use their size.

You must be a math major at UVM!

Yet another useless comment per the DickfromYuma. Ever thought of engaging in dialogue? Addressing points made? Pretending that you aren't a snide little twerp with small johnson syndrome?

Just curious?

For all the crap you spew, you'd think UVM would have a little better history than they do. Even UNH has it over you clowns.

You know JC, for a fan of one of the all-time greatest programs in NCAA history (as evidenced by those smashing wins vs. Yale and AFA and moral victory over BU), you sure do whine a lot.

I can't control that someone posted something stupid. Happens all the time on this thread with you and Cat Lover. I'm sorry my one sentence post wasn't engaging dialogue for you. When I post more, you usually cry and spew nonsense that makes no sense.
