Doug Wilson saying "**** yeah* twice after the ENG and not knowing the camera was on him is LOL worthy as well.

I would have liked the team to play the 3rd period. But hey, at least our 4th line played about 3 minutes tonight....if that.

Let's burn out everyone before the playoffs!!! I think we should loan Nabby to teams playing when we have off days, he clearly needs more action.

If Greiss doesn't start vs. Colorado in about 19 hours, I'll start griping next to you.

To set the scene, Abbotsford's J.D. Watt(notes) was chasing a puck into the corner and collided with Hamilton goaltender Cedrick Desjardins(notes). Referee Jamie Koharski (son of former NHL zebra Don) whistled a penalty on the play. As Watt was skating to the penalty box he learned that instead of an interference call he'd been assessed five minutes for charging, along with a 10-minute game misconduct. Watt did not like the call to the extent that he needed to be escorted off the ice by a linesman. Koharski then skated over and explained the decision to Playfair, who took his disagreement with the call to another level:

Doesn't quite beat the Gwozdecky Shuffle, and I'd like to see video of the Shyiak Watter Bottle Toss, but this is certainly one of the better tirades.

Oh, forgot about the Louisiana Ice Gator coach who emptied his team's stick rack on the ice.

And people wonder why I'm a fan of college and minor league hockey... all the good sh** happens here. :D

Yeah, he tried to get too Datsyukian there. :)

Plus the announcers were saying as early as the first period that the ice in that building sucks.

Getting demoted by Sutter finally got to him.

Re: 2009-2010 NHL Season Part 3: After The Gold Rush

Fire up the whine line.

The rumored Winter Classic for next season:

Penguins-Capitals at Heinz Field

Re: 2009-2010 NHL Season Part 3: After The Gold Rush

That is pretty BS if true. The Penguins have already been in one, how about we give some other teams a shot. Oh thats right, Crosby is on the Penguins so we have to highlight him in everything.

Re: 2009-2010 NHL Season Part 3: After The Gold Rush

That, and Koharski completely botched that call.

Yes, it was barely even an interference, seemed like the heat guy was kind of forced into it by the bulldogs player eliminating his space to avoid it. Certainly in no way was it a 5 and a game.

A Koharski botching a call? That's unpossible!

Re: 2009-2010 NHL Season Part 3: After The Gold Rush

How dare they try and popularize the sport!

What asteriskbags.

Re: 2009-2010 NHL Season Part 3: After The Gold Rush

As I said elsewhere, due to NBC Sports losing so much money, I can only assume that they're using a 1783 map of the United States when it comes to making decisions. Teams outside of the northeast don't exist, except for those strange yokels in Chicago and Detroit. No need to show games later than 12:30 either, since no one in the US is more than an hour behind.

That's probably why they decided to do tape delayed live Olympic events to those weird French and Spanish foreigners on the other side of the Mississippi.

Re: 2009-2010 NHL Season Part 3: After The Gold Rush

Yankee stadium is going to have a college football bowl game around the 1st for the next 5 years, minimum.

Yup, the Pinstripe Bowl will be taking up all the prep time they'd need to put a rink in down there as the game is either just before or just after Christmas (I forget which).
