Make the playoffs, not war.
Even with a full work week ahead some of us are already wishing it was Thursday except for the fans in St. Cloud that need those extra days to push out a few more dime bags so they have enough cash to feed their cats. So let's all enjoy these next days together on the thread and if you're traveling to St. Cloud this weekend remember the Stearns County motto:

"Stearns County, come for the hockey stay for the meth!"

The question was asked a couple weeks ago but I don't know if it was ever answered, why name your arena after some schmuck who coached there for a year and doesn't know how to drive?

Did he also lead the effort to steal other teams' logos and mascot nicknames or was someone else in charge of that?

They probably saw that North Dakota blatantly ripped off the Blackhawks logo and figured no one would have a problem with it.

Well they were wrong. How dare they steal logos and mascot names? It's just unconscionable. SCSU is truly among history's greatest monsters with Herb Brooks being the worst offender. From this, and SCSU fans' indifference to it, I can only assume the SCSU faithful have no souls.

According to this link http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/10/07/meth-states_n_4057372.html North Dakota had 15 meth incidents in 2012. Didn't think there were 15 people in the state

So SCSU bases its' entire naming of buildings upon whether or not a Nazi donated money? If a Nazi donates, it's named after him. If a Nazi doesn't donate, it's named after a horrible coach. Seems like a strange, and frankly stupid, practice.

In all seriousness...now that UND can't use their logo or their nickname...what will all the wieners with nothing better to do cry about about?

You need to spend less time getting tipsy and more time opening a newspaper. Or since I assume you are under the age of 145, perusing the newssites on the Internets. UND currently has a committee to come up with a terrible nickname and mascot. Fingers crossed for the Sillinannies.

I haven't seen any updates on the nickname recently, and don't care enough to seek them out. I am assuming the same is true for your half-assed mission to find out why the NHC was named after Herb Brooks.

So even if there was a new mascot and nickname you would be none the wiser because you don't read. Then why even ask the question? Seems sort of foolish.

That is what you got from what I typed? Seems likely that YOU don't read.

I read many sites like SBN College Hockey, College Hockey News, and this site. I read the Star Tribune which frequently has information about UND. If there was a big development in the nickname story, those places would likely write something about it. I don't remember seeing anything recently about it. That is why I asked the question. Now I have read your answer that they have a committee. Good to know that they are no closer to a new nickname than they were 2 years ago.
