2/3/13 - Hangover Saturday. What happened last night? SCORES! RANTS

Cards lack a big time scorer .....someone who gets you the big goal and can put points on the stat sheet every night. Why can't we recruit one finisher.

This is a very young team! What's saying we do not already have this in the future? This team just needs to mature! Nothing else needs to be said honestly!

Not really, but it is worth pointing out that in amongst all the penalties UNE was down 2-0 with under two minutes to play and won 3-2 WITHOUT going to overtime!

The future looks pretty good with freshmen like Emmerling, Smith, Baleshta, and Fox putting up pretty good numbers. Fox has really come into his own, scoring in each of the last three games!

Future is beyond bright. You can clearly see by Fredonias last two game 2-0 and 2-1 wins Fredonia has put thr focus back on defense. Are they great? No. But Plattsburgh record vs Fredonia at Steele Hall is much lower then at Stafford. Always has been. We've had much much better teams go into Steele and lose. People forget just how good Friesen "CAN" be. SOG 36-18....Id say attempted shots were more like 60 something. Fredonia worked and sacrificed (Plattsburgh did also). The Cards did not play horrible, Friesen just played better. Its happened before, ask Oswego. With some added "help" from quick whistles and one of the worst calls I've seen in 20+ years, Fredonia found themselves in the W column. For all the bandwagon jumpers (once again this year we all remember everyone after losing to Brockport last year writing the team off) Ill meet you at your choice to buy your tickets for the remainder of the season seeing how we might as well pack it in because a Top team shouldn't go into a 6 win team and lose. Its never happened before so this must be the end of the world. There's a girls game at 3:00pm ...go follow them....or head across the river and follow Norwich....they've never had a bad loss late in the season before. Same with St.Norbert, Oswego, Middlebury....they've never had a bad loss before. Id use that "U" word in regards to Cortland but lets keep them out of this....

Note this wasn't intended to you CardSin or anyone in particular but for those who want to bandwagon jump off and on. For anyone actually at the game you would know that Plattsburgh played very very good. Friesen just played better. Id be worried (and agree with the "we suck" thoughts) if we went into Fredonia and were outplayed and outshot 16-38 (of which id say close to half of their 18 were on the PP)

So in short...relax. 4 regular season games left. SUNYAC playoffs and we will go from there.

+1, Fairweather fans really get under my skin.....A slipup by Oswego and they will all jump back on!! It was a rough weekend for a lot of teams!!

It was a complete breakdown by USM. After giving up two goals on goal mouth scrambles (after several saves by the huskie keeper). The discipline that was needed after the first UNE goal was gone. The USM penalty after the second UNE goal was the right call, and the misconduct was well deserved.

This was more a team trying hard not to lose, than a team knowing how to close the sale. Real tough loss for USM and a real gut check win for UNE. On the whole, however, it was a pretty crappy game to watch as a fan of college hockey.

Still firmly attached to the band wagon , enjoyed the era of Cardinal teams that didn't require any ones "slip up" to get the job done much better.

Any Oswego fan who says they do not "Fear The Bird" in the SUNYAC's is lying...or drunk...or both.

Correct but its not so much Plattsburgh has gone down but the others have come up...division III wide. Personally id rather see good hockey then the old 10-0 scores on a regular basis.

Well, my thinking is that I would rather have a balanced team than 1 big goal scorer. Plattsburgh has that balance and as mentioned, should be good for next year and the freshmen will have one year under their belts. This is not to say, that I think anything is over! The Cardinals have always been known, since I've been watching(way too many years to count), a good end of the year team. I think they may just surprise a few bandwagoners come playoff time. GO CARDS!!

All leagues have improved top to bottom as is evidenced by scores I don't believe 1st place has been clinched by anyone as of yet Finishing 1st during regular season and home ice does not quarantee tournament win
That's why they play the game

Re: 2/3/13 - Hangover Saturday. What happened last night? SCORES! RANTS

not really, right now Plattsburgh is 3 point back of Oswego and 2 from Genny. if Plattsburgh wins out and Oswego ties another game then the teams could be tied with Plattsburgh holding the tiebreaker.... the next 4 games are crucial to Plattsburgh's playoff hopes.
Agree. Also, let's remember, Genny has one less game left than the Cardinals, so that will factor in.

Balanced yes , one 20 goal stud isn't asking for a rebuild of the program.

2-1 Lake Forest after 1.

Absolutely hideous goaltending on Adrian's part.

Re: 2/3/13 - Hangover Saturday. What happened last night? SCORES! RANTS

Hobart and Utica are scoreless after 1

Re: 2/3/13 - Hangover Saturday. What happened last night? SCORES! RANTS

Lake Forest 3-2 over Adrian after 2.

We're getting what we deserve right now.
