2/22/12 - SUNYAC and ECAC W Playoff Scores!

Re: 2/22/12 - SUNYAC and ECAC W Playoff Scores!

We will take Freddy, last game they looked pathetically slow. In the last semis we lost, their goalie was the difference as I recall. Don't remember his name. They got a lead and sat on it, couldn't put it in.

That goalie was Mark Friesen, who is still the goalie for Fredonia.

And they didn't sit on their lead too long. Oswego tied it at 8:50 of the second period, and then it went all they way to 11:34 of overtime.

So, every winning team on Wednesday scored four goals, and they all led their respective games, 1-0.

2007 was OT with them too, hmm.......don't know what I am recalling then.

Going scoreless into the 2nd period when you're Oswego or Plattsburgh ALWAYS seems like forever...especially with a frustrating team like Fredonia.
AGREEEEE, but what happens most of the times during the REGULAR season is the weaker team wears down by the end of 2nd period or so when the rush of staying with a platty or Oz goes away...in the PLAYOFFS or 1 game series as such that rush stays awhile longer and coupled with a HOT netminder.......well we know the rest.....this is why they play the games and teams dont advance just because they are so and so...as for Oz this year I think they just playing to well for a letdown and hope for a champinship game at the CC...ps a little revenge never hurt either:D

Exactly why Im ready for the return trip to the CC. Yes Oswego is talented, but they have the most focus (as of now) of any DIII team Ive seen. Their focus allows for their goals more then talent IMHO and NOT giving up the goals. They are in the right spot at the right time and play with a sense of belief, sort of like the Middlebury of the 90s. They believe they are going to win, period.

Maybe we will get your niece in a Cardinal jersey next weekend again ;-)
