2/11/12 - Will the BU grad get a D in hockey? Stop in at Salem and ID the man!

Re: 2/11/12 - Will the BU grad get a D in hockey? Stop in at Salem and ID the man!

I wonder when the last time was that Brockport swept the Platt/Pots weekend. Huge 4 points for them and their playoff hopes.

Well, considering the only other time Brockport has defeated Plattsburgh was before many of us were even born I am going out on a limb and saying it has never happened.

This is only the 2nd time Brockport has ever defeated Plattsburgh. The only other time was January 21, 1984 when Doug Kacharvich was the coach. It was a 6-4 loss. The Cards finished 16-18 that year with an 8-4 record in SUNYAC.

Plattsburgh now holds a 73-2-2 record all time vs. Brockport.

On another note, I decided to stick around for the Senior celebration afterwards, its really sad to see those seniors who have given a lot to the program have to sit out their senior year. If Geneseo could have been a healthy team in 2012, .......
+2

...back in the old days, Genny Creme was referred to as Green Death....

Back in the real old days, before Brockport had ever beaten Plattsburgh and I still drank alcohol, it was known to often cause certain aromatic digestive issues and was called Genny Screamers  :o

If Plattsburgh wants to have a shot at the #1 seed, they're going to need a win on Friday. Should make the atmosphere that much more intense, which is great. God I miss being back on campus for those games..

Im pretty sure the only way Plattsburgh can get the #1 seed is if they win on Friday and Saturday and Oswego loses on Friday and Saturday. If platty can pull off the sweep, they'll have 27 Pts. If Oswego gets only one win, they would have 28.

Close, currently Oswego has 26 points and Plattsburgh 23 with 4 points up for grab, if Plattsburgh defeats Oswego and Cortland they will have 27 and Potsdam just ties Oswego, Oswego will have only 27. It will then go to TBD secondary criteria.

It happened not too long ago.

A Plattsburgh win on Friday and who knows what happens on Saturday. Although, I would like to think the Lakers will easily take care of business on Saturday, Potsdam may be fighting for their playoff lives as well.

You're right. I was just referring to how Plattsburgh could get the 1 seed without the tiebreaker. If it comes down to a tie, Plattsburgh would win it because they would have beaten Oswego on Friday. But we all know that won't happen. :D

You know, I forgot that we didn't loose to Oswego, it was only a tie

Nor did you lose to Oswego.;) Sorry, but I've got a personal vendetta for that word, grammer Nazi reporting - nothing personal to you sir.

Mr Quinnipiac needs to report ready for serious action, because with how I'm reading into the latest trends, Platty's goaltender is the best thing going for them into this match. Oswego has rarely looked so disciplined as they are now, and that's going to take the Cardinal PP out of the equation, lest Emery gets the intimidation factor rolling again.

True, if you loosen your tie, it might not be a tie - but then again, is a tie a tie, if it is untied?

I couldn't find a thread to put this, so I'm posting it here. Does anyone know why Jonathan La Rose didn't play in the 09-10 season?

Perhaps you may be right about the "latest trends"as you call it but I wouldn't worry too awfully much about the Cardinal team as a Whole not showing up on Friday. As for the power play, we don't count on that . .See you Friday. Correction: Grammar is spelled with ar.

Congrats to Plymouth for there big win over Salem to take the lead in the MASCAC. You can see what a new building can do for your hockey program. Some difference having a rink in Plymouth vs Waterville Walley which is about 20 away at a ski area. Good luck in the MASCAC playoffs.

I agree on the reffing. Bad both ways, but even as a Genny fan I would say P'burgh got the short end of the stick on a few more calls than GSU. Worked against us though I would rather be 5 v 5 than against that PK!

Saw the pocket of Plattsburgh fans stick around for the Senior celebration to celebrate their contributions to SUNYAC hockey over the last 4 years. Classy move - much appreciated!

You have to appreciate as a hockey fan, not a rival fan, the hard work that those players put in. They may not have been the most talented group of seniors to leave Geneseo, but a very hard working group. Since Kestell and Avery have left Geneseo they are with out a doubt a hardworking, lunch pail carrying, outworking TEAM. As I said in the begining of the year they were my #1 SUNYAC team (healthy). The foundation is there, just going to have to replace a few decent players and Geneseo will be back in the top 3.
