It's that time of year again. The USCHO Nerds league is open for business and accepting registrations.

Up to 16 teams will be accepted (last year we went with 14), head-to-head format. Registration is first-come, first serve.

Draft date is slated for Monday, March 30, 9:15 p.m. EST. I'll send reminders through this thread periodically.

It's been a fun, competitive league in the past. Macaroni Penguins are the defending champs, having beaten Miggy's Paycheck in the 2014 finals.

Looking forward to another fun season.

Play ball!

Almost pulled off the Cinderella story last year. Somehow lost a 2 point lead in the final day of the season to end in a tie and had no chance at the tiebreaker.

In as VMart's Dead Knee. Subject to change.

Six teams in, hoping for at least six more. Five or six years ago, we'd fill the league with 16 teams almost instantly. But registration has been slow the past couple of years...less folks perusing the USCHO cafe, I suppose. Those already in the league, feel free to actively recruit anyone who might be interested in joining.

Marsgriffins Über Alles

I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing.

Re: 13th annual USCHO fantasy baseball league

That pretty much puts you in the playoffs.

Truth. The first time I played, I won the title by blind luck and J. Bautista playing miles above his draft value. The second time, same thing, lucked into M. Cabrera and D. Ortiz playing lights out all year. Then last year I over-managed it, dumping guys on cold streaks, hiring flashes in the pan, and got knocked out in the playoffs.
That, and pitching is really hard to predict.

Heck, I forgot about my team for a solid two months last year and did better than I ever have.

I call it the Mike Illitch approach, where no one hears from you and then it turns out you've been in Florida for almost a year doing nothing.

I'd play again, but I can't make the draft. If it could be pushed back another 15 minutes and I might have a chance of making it, but I'm the only with an issue, so....

You can pre-rank players for the draft. If it's 15 minutes, you'd likely only miss the first two rounds. Rank your top 30, and you should be OK.

Re: 13th annual USCHO fantasy baseball league

Draft is two weeks from tonight.

One slot open to whoever wants it...

Re: 13th annual USCHO fantasy baseball league

All 16 slots have been filled. Should be a fun season. Draft is a week from Monday.
