And here's something for you...
Total Penalties for the weekend:
Castleton: 16 for 43 minutes (allowed 0 PPG)
Babson 16 for 40 minutes (allowed 3 PPG, scored one SHG)
Utica 10 for 39 minutes (allowed 3 PPG, 1 SHG)
Plattsburgh 4 for 8 minutes (allowed 0 PPG)
Oswego: 18 for *85* minutes, including 4 game misconducts. It'll be a short March if they keep that up.
Nice to see Potsdam salvage a tie to keep them at .500, but what was up with the 54 penalty minutes - also a tie, as SOM took 54 of their own - and both teams each scored 2 PPG's. 108 total penalty minutes in the game!! (particularly one involving a SUNYAC team) I think there are a lot of coaches in need of some skills training themselves this summer - this is DIII not "Slapshot".
I know this has already been talked a ton about but I was just able to log in so I am going to add my 2 cents. Alex didn't sell anything if you have ever been out on the ice and hit from behind while standing on about a foot from the boards it hurts and hurts a lot. I have got my arms up and stingers go through my arm that feels like your arm is snapped in two, neck getting jolted where if feels like whiplash etc. but was able to kept playing so unless you were in the players skates and talked to him the second after it happened how can you say he wasn't in pain and not "selling" the penalty. I don't think that Castleton played dirty but tried to coax Plattsburgh into taking a stupid penalty many teams have tried that this year and many years before. Some of the Castleton fans showed no class what so ever not clapping when Alex got up from that hit and saying oh he is not hurt shouldn't have been a major. I don't care if Alex hopped back up the player that got ejected took 3-4 strides, hit Jensen right square in the numbers and finished the hit in any league that is a game misconduct. But I will agree that Plattsburgh got away with one because I did see a hit from behind on a castleton player but it wasn't on the side of the ice I was sitting on so I couldn't the extent of the hit but was a penalty that was not called. Just hope Friday I don't have to deal with some of those same fans I did Saturday night, if you do not agree with the call fine, if you want to yell at the ref again thats fine but to take it out on the player that was hurt is downright dirty.Questionable call on the hit from behind, player sold it otherwise penalties the same....I have seen that hit called a board more times than anything
