Live stats shows the shots this period 8-1 Utica, are they all over Castleton at this time?

Utica did change to Smith in goal after the 4th CSU goal at 13:14 into the 1st.

Utica deserved the 5min major and Castleton's goalie is playing very well. Through 2 Utica has outshot them 2 to 1 (36-18). Utica played better and the shutout has benefitted from a couple shots off the post that could have gone either way.

As a general rule, 5 minute major penalties are bad to take since the other team continues with the man advantage. :rolleyes:
Long ago, when I was in grad school, I saw Wisconsin score like 5 or 6 goals during on a 5 minute major. It acturally got a bit embarrassing. :D

Meanwhile, over in Edmonton, the Czechs just took a 3-2 lead with 7:46 left in the 3rd. USA missed a penalty shot earlier in the 3rd and has missed many golden opportunities....

And another turnover and an ENG and USA moves to the relegation round.

Early penalties ruined a good game. I wouldn't want to face either team - rough play. IMO,the better team lost.

It's beginning to look like the Utica - Babson/Plattsburgh becomes a must win for the ECAC-W.

Sounds a lot like the Norwich/CSC game. But in my opinion the better team is the team that wins, regardless of how. To quote Dominick from The Fast the Furious, "It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile; winning's winning"

Tim Tebow and the Broncos know all about that.

Lakers game will start about 10 minutes late due to the late finish to the first game. Our coverage is on the air now.

To clarify the better team as in "provided the better entertainment" for a neutral fan. Clearly Utica needs to learn how to avoid major penalties and no doubt Castleton's goalie was far better, killing off a couple 5 on 3's - and the "bounce gods" were on his side today.
