And Marge really is gonna push forward after being told by Dump to back down from doing it? Hilarious. I really wish the GOP would just get it over with and fracture.
 
So she is handing all power in the House to the Dems...cool. They are now in a win/win. Either Johnson bends the knee and we get everything we want (which will then protect him for now*) or he tries to play hardball and the GOP spends all summer eating their tail ensuring the bluest of waves with a possibility of Speaker Jeffries. (which is coming anyways) The icing on the cake will be when Comer gets bullied into bringing Impeachment to the floor and it doesn't survive the vote.

I know some will criticize the Dems protecting Johnson...but for a couple of months a neutered dog is better than chaos in the House. It still creates chaos in the GOP which is awesome because now their infighting will reach a fever pitch. Gaetz has gone on record saying his fellow GOPers took bribes and Loonbat Luna said removing Johnson will lead to a bunch of people quitting. This is what the Dems need front and center while they sit back and basically run a coalition government with Johnson.


*even if they protect him in the short term by the end of the summer if the GOP calls the question again he is dead. The Dems want September-November to be a spotlight on the insanity of the MAGA Caucus. For now though they need to keep showing how adult they are and can get stuff done even in minority...which is kind of awesome! Calling to remove is one of the dumbest tactical errors I have seen since Trump's Accountant literally wrote down they were paying out the money to bury the story and that they were going to do the accounting wrong...which he legit did.

Well, fueling chaos is about all Marge has left to try and earn another one of Putin's campaign contributions. I mean, seeing as how she couldn't stop Ukraine funding.
 
I like that she thinks she outmaneuvered the Dems because they are supporting a "Christian Conservative" so no one will vote for them or something...

I believe she also basically accused everyone to the Left of her as being part of the "Unified Party" or some such nonsense.

I don't think they should keep Mike in. I like the odds of flipping a pair of republicans in a negotiated deal more.
 
I dont think that is going to happen...not now anyways. They have no reason to flip there is nothing they want that we will give them nor is there anything we will ask for that they will risk giving. It is pretty obvious we cut a deal for Ukraine aid so we should honor it.

But the second they get uppity you pull support.

Democrats should not make any kind of moves to get Jeffries the Speaker. This Congress is a disaster and the Democrats should let the GQP own it entirely. Even with this deal, it's not like the Democrats have a true partner; they are simply agreeing to get necessary bills passed.

Spend the next 6 months reminding everyone what happens when these idiots have control of anything.

Not to mention, he would have zero power as Speaker. The GOP, even the ones in Biden Districts, will not pass anything he puts forth.

He will look like an ineffectual Speaker which will follow him. The Blue Wave is coming, let the GOP choke on their own lack of ability to govern.
 
Manchin leaves the Democratic Party and registers as an independent. Rumors he may run again in ‘24 against Jim Justice.

The sad thing is, based on 2020 results, even if Manchin and Justice split the red vote, the Dem would still lose.
 
He hasn't voted as a Democrat in at least a year and has screwed over Biden with the Federal Courts for months...this is not surprising.

So that makes it 50-49-1?

Still 51-49. He’s going to continue caucusing. Probably splitting hairs, but an NBC article pointed out today is an important day to do it, because resigning today allows him to run for Senate in WV without the state having a say if he can be on the ballot. They’re allowed to disallow someone if they had switched parties within 60 days of a primary.

LOL. That tracks. I hope the Dems just run a full-on Lefty in that case. Better to die on your feet than live on your knees. And I swear to Christ a True Lefty can take 34% of the vote anywhere in this country. Maybe not 35 in some places... but 34. And I'll bet in the real horses-arse red area of this country there is actually a higher percentage of the Loony Left -- the guys even I want to slow their roll. Because living among those GOP cretins all your life takes a toll.
 
It's fine. I'd rather he leaves the party, campaigns on how shitty the dems are, and still votes with us about 50% more than Justice will.

Manchin is by far the most valuable senator in the senate. Maybe of the last 50 years.
