Rubio isn't a wonk, he's the antithesis of a wonk. Wonks are passionate about policy to the point of being total dorks about it. Rubio is a wimp who got disemboweled on the national stage by the political equivalent of a New Jersey mafia goon.

Rubio is a poser like Cruz and Rand Paul. They tub-thump disingenuously. They have no interest in or understanding of the merits. They are merely leading their followers around by the nose.

At least Cruz went to Princeton and Harvard. Which arguably makes him the worst of all, because he knows better.

Voting Rights Bill gets filibustered in the Senate needing 10 Republicans to jump on board. Chuck Schumer switches to a No vote causing it to fail 49-51, but this allows it to be re-voted upon later.

They're just not going to pass anything. Between the Republicans, Manchin, and Sinema they are blocked from everything. They should have just took the bipartisan bill and been done with it and built a better messaging strategy.

Stanford and Yale. He's another massive disappointment.

Hawley is the poster child of Stanford. The only more perfect alum would have been Cruz.

Very well scrubbed.
Undeniably smart.
Utterly amoral.
Sh-t eating.

Stanford is now what Harvard was in the 1940s and Yale was in the 1880s.

Never underestimate the Democrats ability to blow even the easy wins. They could lose a game up 4 goals with 1 minute to play...

Well, Joe Manchin told Democrats he needed to be involved with the voting rights bill so he could write it in a way that included Republicans and get Republican support. That bill was voted on last night. Manchin's achievement? ZERO Republicans. Yes, Zero.

Fuck you Manchin. Fuck you for thinking you can get any of those clowns to play ball.

That's the silly thing. I try to avoid reading about the sausage making process because it's always ugly, but Manchin keeps forgetting that even his friends aren't at all acting in good faith here.

Senator Angus King does the math on how many senators it takes to filibuster a bill, and what that could mean in terms of how many Americans those senators might represent:

"The situation we're in now is that 24% of the American people have an effective veto over anything that 76% of the American people think is important public policy. I don't think that squares with democratic theory."

Senator King used to be a defender of the filibuster rule, but he's beginning to change his mind.

From Rachel Maddow, MSNBC.

He isnt forgetting...its all a calculation. Most of this crap he doesn't want passed either because it hurts his bottom line or he fears the Reds in WV will get rid of him. He also wants it to look like he is being the adult trying to bridge the gap between the parties. Problem is this isn't 20 years ago everyone knows what is really going on.

This. Status quo is good for Joe.

Here's a little secret. They aren't his friends.

Oh, he may think they are. But they could give two shots about him, he's just their useful idiot.
