Gottheimer and other moderates continue to block the reconciliation bill, arguing that time kills deals, or something silly and pathetic like that. The Chamber of Commerce loves what the moderate Democrats are doing so much, they’re airing positive ads back in said Democrats’ districts to show their approval. That’s nice.

Looks like Pelosi has struck a deal with the House moderates to advance the reconciliation budget vote. I’m sure SALT will get reinstated to help those wealthy blue voters in wealthy blue states, but if that’s what it takes to get the rest of it, I suppose I’ll trade.

Up the bracket rates if you want, but the SALT cap as is is double-taxing.

I am guessing Biden put on a bit of pressure since Afghanistan is not helping his approval rating...

Nah. Up the bracket rates, keep the SALT cap in place. You rich folks can afford it. That said, if Sanders is on board with raising (but not eliminating) the SALT cap, I’m sure it’ll be in the bill somewhere.

Makes sense. Looks like they decoupled the bills in the House without really giving away much. Sinema and Manchin will be the ones grinding this thing down to $2 trillion or less.
 
John Lewis VRA passed the House. Zero GOP votes of course. (including Kinzinger) Now on to the Senate where Manchin and Sinema will sit flaccidly as it dies.
