It would pretty much silence all social media that's not directly dealing with a sports topic. Even those would have to be heavily monitored by any entity willing to hose user-based content.

As for 230 while I dont really support the idea behind repealing it...I am starting to believe the world would be a better place is SM was severely restricted. I am not saying it needs to be completely devoid or conversation of discussion...but the increase in crackpots and dangerous conspiracy theories definitely correlates to the rise in engagement with SM. There has to be a better way to deal with it that doesnt completely choke it off but also doesn't allow for the cesspool that is most SM.

Where would conservatives go to spew their lies and conspiracy theories? They can’t just create new Parlers if they do this

I mean Of course but I meant a wider platform. The top posts on Facebook are always right wing nuts so I think a lot of people will have meltdowns if they can’t share that crap anymore.

Anyone get their $600 yet? I have a random pending deposit of ~$750 which I assume is some reduced stimulus payment for me and my wife.

Nothing here, but then if it phases out at the same rate as the first check, I'm only eligible for like $60 thus go around. On the bright side, it was a 27 paycheck year, so that extra paycheck today was nice.

Since my wife claims the child on her return, she's eligible for more, but she never got her first check, so that'll have to be reconciled on this year's taxes.

I'm also looking forward to finally filing jointly this year, as her student loans should be wiped out in February under the PSLF program. Once that happens, no reason to keep filing separately.
