116th Congress: F-cker WAS Impeached. Still not enough.

Yeah if you believe the "Dems Are in Disarray" stories in rags like Politico every member of the Squad is in trouble.

For all the flap about Tlaib being in trouble, it appears she'll cruise to an easy MI-13 primary victory over the career Detroit pol and party operative she narrowly defeated in 2018.

Also, some former Bernie operative successfully primaried the Dem careerist in MO-1.

Today is the first time I noticed the morons talking proudly how they're voting for James. In an uncontested primary. I certainly hope he's ahead, then.

The Oakland County prosecutor that tossed a 15 year old black girl in Juvi for not doing her online homework just got the boot.

That was a great Justice Democrats win. That district contains Ferguson. The upset winner, Cori Bush, was a BLM protester. The careerist, William Lacy Lee, has held that seat, and his father before him, since before MLB had division.

Not the six divisions since 1994. The four divisions since 1969.

This is fascinating:

Clay, however, is not old (he just turned 64, a decade younger than Engel), white, or lazy. Clay did not remotely take Bush for granted, launching a full-scale negative campaign to try to take her down, and has been focused on her as a threat since her loss to him in 2018. He is a fixture of the community, and he and his father, Bill Clay Sr., a civil rights activist and co-founder of the Congressional Black Caucus, have continuously held the seat since the 1960s.

Clay’s defeat is also ominous for incumbent Democrats, as he was hammered at home by an outside, anti-monopoly group for his work with the financial industry to undo an Obama-era piece of Wall Street reform.

...

Justice Democrats spent roughly $200,000 in support of Bush, and Sunrise Movement, the youth climate group, was active on her behalf as well, as was Matriarch, a new organization that backs working class women running for office. “She ran on Defund the Police, the Green New Deal, and Medicare for All and defeated a multi-generational political dynasty who got too close to corporate donors and too far from the needs of his district,” said Evan Weber, political director of Sunrise.

Yet Ocasio-Cortez declined to endorse Bush in her second run, as did many of the progressive groups that make up the institutional left. Clay has played a leading role in casting Justice Democrats as flatly racist in its willingness to challenge members of the Congressional Black Caucus, and Ocasio-Cortez, as an incumbent, has been under intense pressure not to get behind primary challengers to her colleagues, and only backed Bowman after Engel’s hot-mic moment. No sitting member of the House backed Bush.

Jamaal Bowman, however, rallied for her.

The times, they are a-changing.

I’m not sure if ilhan is in trouble. I don’t actually like her much as my rep, esp compared to the rep for the district next to me. Spent time this week talking to my old, good friend who has been employed in this game forever and he actually said a lot of local Dems that he trusts think Anton will be a better rep than ilhan.

I like his platform on a few things, not all. But there are a few things I don’t like about her and I’m not sure how I’m voting yet. The rep will be a D no matter what but I kind of want one who meets with constituents sometimes

Looks like a Meijer will take Amash’s old seat. It’s only a lean R, but I don’t see how he loses with the name recognition. If Amash had run I think the Dem would’ve come out on top in a split conservative ticket.

If he actually endorsed her, it would be the Kiss of Death. We can dream...

I'm sure Collins' staff has told Dump's staff they don't want an endorsement. If they were smart they'd orchestrate a spat where Collins publicly stood up to Dump over something inconsequential.

I am not voting in the primary...who ever wins will take the seat and I just dont much care about either of them enough to really fight it out. If she wins she gets my vote, if he wins he gets my vote. (that fact that she is both our reps is kind of insane) I just wish they would stop wasting paper sending me flyers already. (not to mention the texts)

I dont think she is in as much trouble as Politico does because there are obvious parts of her territory that are going to vote hard for her. A lot of people think it is the apparent Antisemitism that will do her in but I think I have heard one friend bring that up as a reason they arent voting for her in the primary. (still will in the general) Walz endorsing her will help her. We will see I guess. If she loses the world wont end ;-)

Even though AOC didn't endorse her, I expect she'll be welcomed as the Squad's 5th member.

It did give us this however:

@tedcruz you are eating well during the pandemic. Hope you are able to see tailor soon

These guys have been talking to Republicans for so long they don't realize that everybody outside that fetid stink bubble is on to them. It's like Dump -- he's that way because the only people he ever talks to are Ivanka and Kushner. In a Kindergarten the short bus first grader is king.

This is also how guys like Ben Shapiro think they're intellectuals.

Somebody pointed out the critical difference between Yates and Cruz. She is probably smarter than he is but they are in the same order of magnitude. The reason she is destroying him is she is telling the truth. It's just so, so, so much easier to be coherent and convincing when you are telling the truth. Even Bill Clinton sounded off-putting when he was lying, and he was 500 times more charming and intelligent than Ted Cruz.
