Yeah, even some of my more conservative law school classmates who stayed in Nebraska are saying it was bad. He'll still get re-elected cause Nebraska, but the shine is definitely off of him as a rising star.

Does Puerto Rico have these referenda every 2-3 years? I swear they just did one not that long ago, and had another one not that long before that.

Like a healthy young male, they come in spurts. But the anti faction has always been able to rig it so there are so many choices statehood never gets a majority. My understanding is on the heels of the state and federal GOP f-cking up aid so badly, PR had a blue wave in their leg elections and so they are putting statehood to the people as a straight up or down vote.
Obviously, the national GOP will spike it if they have the chance, so we have to have a clean blue sweep in Congress if it passes in order to admit them. Even then the GOP will make noises about unfairness and after Garland et al we have to tell them to go f-ck themselves to the moon.
Same story for DC. We should absolutely admit them as soon as we have the chance. That's 4 blue Senators to offset BS like WY and MT.
