Re: 116th Congress: Episode 2 The Turtle Has Total Control
People defend the killing on innocent Muslims all the friggin time.
Yeah, but I'm not talking about those psychos. I'm talking about Average Joe who thinks kids in cages is "unfortunate but we have to do
something about this tide of illegals." People who aren't at all bigoted but have no problem putting an abstract principle ahead of the lives of children.
There's a great book called "Debt: the First 5000 Years" where the author talks about how the IMF essentially foreclosed on a third world country and cost them the mosquito netting that was savings thousands of kids' lives a year, and a liberal economist he was talking to about it at a conference saying, "Well, yes, but after all, we must pay our debts." To which he thought, "why?" When that is the result, then why? Yes, ideally we honor contracts, but when honoring the letter of the contract will kill thousands then no, f-ck the contract. It's only money. Money is not as important as life; that's why we don't have debtors prisons anymore.
And if "protecting the border" means caging tens of thousands of children and murdering many of them then, no, f-ck the border. F-ck sovereignty, if
that's what it means. Either come up with a better way or your principle loses. Life > ideas, no matter how blubbery we get about those ideas. At the end of the day they are electro-chemical impulses in our heads, they aren't human beings. Our ideas are here to serve us, not the other way around.
