Well the vote wont be til Friday...plenty of time for him to hide in his shell. If by Wednesday Trump hasnt tempered his rhetoric I put the odds at even money McConnell tanks it. He doesnt want a hut down but he also doesnt want to have to deal with the Dems and Trump at the same time.

I do find it ironic though how the Left doesnt have the same zeal for defending certain groups over others though. If this was a situation where Muslim stereotypes were used the Left would be up in arms for days screaming how insensitive it was. (and rightfully so) Christ anyone even mentions anything tangentially close to being a racial slur against a Black the Left is ready to go to War and tar and feather the person. (again rightfully so, myself included) All I am pointing out is this is a similar scenario and they would be wise to watch the way they say things because as we have all said a million times, optics matter.

I am all for not supporting Likud and much of the antics of Israel (though they arent even the worst ally we have in the MidEast despite how bad the Left paints them sometimes) because they bring that crap on themselves. I mean it would be nice if the Left held other actors in the region to the same standard but everyone has their ox to gore that is how politics works so that is the price for playing the game. The GOP only supports Israel because the Evangelicals need to it for the return of their White Messiah. But just know, and I say this as a Jewish Liberal, you need to pay better attention to the rhetoric used or it will bite you in the *** later on.

She should've phrased it better. She didn't. Because she's a Muslim, conservatives are watching her like a hawk, looking to make mountains out of molehills. They did the same thing when Talib called Trump a MFer at a private event last month, and it was caught on mic.

And that is fine. Pelosi scolded her and she apologized. The story should end at that. Everyone did the right thing with her gaffe. The proof is Trump is asking her to resign cause her apology sucked. Any real apology sucks to that clown :p

Now if she makes the same mistake again THEN we can discuss it more in depth but to me it just looks like someone being snarky not realizing that snark doesnt play well when you are a Frosh Rep. (Muslim or not...this would have blown up if any of the frosh had done it) The world is watching...especially on twitter.

McCarthy is saying the Dems caved and Trump is still whining...I would say 3-1 against he declares an emergency but it is only Tuesday. We already know Hannity made his calls and Coulter has abandoned Trump because of this. Lots of moving parts...

I wonder what the internal GOP numbers were saying because for them to come on bended knee begging for a deal the pollsters must have been telling them another shutdown over this was suicide.

Then you should not have supported that abortion of a tax bill in the first place. That guy cannot get voted out of office fast enough. Unfortunately Florida just put someone worse in there as his fellow Senator from Florida. What a dumpster fire that state is.
