115th Congress the final chapter: And Gerry Mander as the Speaker.

Re: 115th Congress the final chapter: And Gerry Mander as the Speaker.

Yep. This is exactly what I predicted months ago. Everyone here thought it was cute when some lawmaker spends his dinner in a restaurant getting verbally abused, but only because that lawmaker happened to be on the opposite side politically. Then I spent weeks getting ridiculed for suggesting that acting like a complete twatwaffle maybe isn't the preferred way to go, because all it does is further ramp up ridiculous behavior.

What was it you told us? Oh yeah...stop whining.

I just don't understand why the follow up to that answer isn't, "what's so good about it?". "Tell me how locking kids up is good policy."

Get to keep all the candy on Halloween?

My guess is he thinks they are all gang members cause he is a racist twit.

Add this to the list of infinite false equivalencies peddled by the right.

Scooby has good reason to sound the alarms continually. Currently, CNN says the Dems have a 72% chance of winning the House right now.

They also point out that Hillary had a 72% chance of being President, and we see how that ended.

Yeah, but most of the models didn't understand how to factor in the electoral college. I don't think they understood that a few thousand votes in one way or another could impact the race. Or rather, they didn't understand it very well. They generally got the popular vote right. It was nearly dead on in predictions coming out of 538 and PEC.

So don't misunderstand what they got right and what they got wrong.

This. Some people ignore the difference to meet their agenda but the numbers don't lie.

I see Steve King is putting his foot in his mouth again...

He has to put it in?

I thought he had it surgically attached to his epiglottis.

GOP Rep. Steve King (Iowa) on Saturday defended his association with a Nazi-linked group in Austria, telling The Washington Post that the group is “far right.”

He made the comments about Austria’s Freedom Party, a group founded by a former Nazi SS officer and whose current leader was active in neo-Nazi circles, according to the paper.

“If they were in America pushing the platform that they push, they would be Republicans,” King, who is known for his inflammatory statements about immigration, told The Post.

Something called Change Research polled a bunch of Trump districts

over the weekend. Don't know the partisan tilt (though I can guess based on the name alone) , but it also mentioned King with a 1 point lead and -10 favorability.

We could never be that lucky.
