It is what Nixon would say, though. Ironically for a guy who owed everything to the Orange County CoC he hated white collar money. Dick was eaten up by paranoia and resentment of, in no particular order, "The East," WASPs, The Ivy League, liberals, (((You Know Who))), lawyers (deeply ironic), finance, Europeans, and anybody who knew which spoon went with the sorbet.

Nixon was born dirt poor. If you had money, especially old money, Dick was immediately suspicious of you.

Except Bain Capital isn’t a hedge fund. It’s a holding company. Closer to Berkshire Hathaway than anything Goldman Sachs does.

I was using an example. I wasn't talking about Bain. Bain is still drip slime. Holding company? Just more accountants moving money around.

I believe in paying taxes too, just I want to pay the bare minimum required by law and I don't want to employ an accountant and lawyer to do so.

I think the point is that Warren Buffet believes the bare minimum required by law should be higher for people as wealthy as he.

And please, spare me the "he's free to pay more if he wants" nonsense.

While I welcome them on board, it's pretty ridiculous that these guys synthesized the germs, used them on the population, and now are shocked, shocked that people are dying of the plague.

I think they are more shocked that the plague gained sentience and turned on its master. Now they ran to the only people who can ave them from the monster they created.
