Sadly, we can't do that. The 27th Amendment that stops current Congress from giving themselves raises also keeps anyone from cutting their pay. They have to pass a law going forward saying in the next Congress if the gov't shutdowns, no pay.

Plus, if Congreff has a signed appropriation, they can legally spend the peoples' money.

USAF Academy, Colo. -- Due to the government shutdown, all Air Force Academy home and away intercollegiate athletic events have been cancelled until further notice. In the event a solution is reached, the Academy will work to reschedule as many missed events as possible.
