Re: 115th Congress: On Permanent Vacation

Also (re: Eliminating Amendments 11-27) it doesn't surprise me that they would want to eliminate the income tax and go back to taxing via tariffs. It would hurt "the poors" more than anything.

It seems to me that if a person has absolute faith in a religion that considers abortion at any stage of development as murder, with "hereafter" consequences for both the murderer and the murdered, then one-issue voting is understandable.

So then how can they justify being anti birth control as well. Extremely hypocritical to be so against something that would reduce something else that you are strongly against.

BREAKING: The Alabama Supreme Court has issued a stay blocking a lower court’s order requiring state officials to preserve and protect voting records in the event of a recount.

Can anyone explain why they wouldn’t want to preserve? I mean I think I know but...

The Comments on the Kos article on this are interesting. It's more complicated than what is obviously looks like.

Birth control, as was said to me, is considered an abortive process that interferes with the body's natural function. I didn't want to get into the details from there.

Re: 115th Congress: On Permanent Vacation

Sabato, 538, and the Hill have all been saying that the Democrats become favored to retake both chambers if they have a 10-point generic advantage on election day in 2018. That's what they need to overcome incumbency effects and voter suppression in the Senate as well as gerrymandering and clustering in the House.

As of today, roguhly 11 months before the election, the generic advantage is D+14.

I hope they're working on it diligently and figuring out where they can win and where they can't and putting the resources together. They have to win at least one House and if they win two that's ideal.

Pence has to be impeached with Trump when that happens. He was complicit to the conspiracy to steal the election.

They really only have to win the Senate. That ends the reign of terror: no more judges or heists. Positive change, even at the level of undoing the GOP's rape of the nation, will have to wait for a clean D sweep.

Yet another reason why a Jones win and cutting the R's to 51 in the Senate is so important. I still only give it a 20% chance but, hey, that's about what Dump had of winning. Jones may win AL exactly as Dump did the US: the opponent is so awful it warps the result to be the opposite of the baseline scope preference.

The House is easier to win for 2018 as far as I know.
