Re: 115th Congress: On Permanent Vacation

John McCain sees no irony in him getting treatment for his cancer while basically guaranteeing cancer treatment for millions of others will crap the bed. Some hero...I may be agnostic but I hope hell exists because there is no doubt that guy is going there.

Re: 115th Congress: On Permanent Vacation

The bill passed with 51 votes...where is all the outrage about deficits now? I assume the Tea Party is going to go nuts over this any minute now right?

People say “how will we pay for it!?!?!?” IRT Bernie’s proposals... well now we have our answer to that question.

Re: 115th Congress: On Permanent Vacation

Arctic Oil drilling is in the tax bill. There some nice abortion legislation in it too. It's a Republican's wet dream.

They didn't even take into account all that business income that will be generated by environmental cleanup 2 generations down the road. (Don't look at that CERCLA-type tax drain behind the curtain).

Re: 115th Congress: On Permanent Vacation

Susan Collins, John McCain, and Jeff Flake are all big piles of ****.

Corker was the only one not to vote for the bill. He's the only Republican left in the Senate that has any dignity left.

People probably said that about McCain during the healthcare vote. Honestly none of them do, even Corker, if I had to guess he knew they had the votes and was allowed to vote his conscience but I could be wrong on that.

Isn't it in a wildlife sanctuary too, one of the only ones left in NA?

Re: 115th Congress: On Permanent Vacation

Corker didn’t vote ‘No’ because it was evil. He voted for it because it was to much a deficit hit.

Correct. This bill is designed to starve the Government so they can go after Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.

Corker voted no because he is a deficit hawk. He was the one fighting the hardest to get taxes put in if the economy bombed. He wanted tax reform as much as anyone but he had a line and this bill crossed it. He isnt a hero or anything, he just did his job. (at least on the overall bill)

Look back to the tweet I posted last night from 3 days ago. The Democrats put forth an amendment that guaranteed that the revenue would "trickle down" and not be reinvested like last time. This should have been an easy amendment for the GOP to agree to...plus super good PR to show they are trying to work with Democrats. Not one Republican voted for it. This is a flipping softball. This is like making a rule that no one can eat your bacon in a house full of vegetarians. Instead...they just proved that they dont even buy the bs Trickle Down rhetoric anymore.

Last I saw the bill was polling nationwide at like 26%. To put that in perspective that is what 11 points worse than our President and he is polling at historic lows. The GOP best hope the predicted Dem waves in 2018 and 2020 dont happen because the fallout from stuff like this is going to massive.

The really sad thing is though, if the Dems win the White House in 2020 the GOP will blame them for the coming economic ****storm and half the morons in this country will believe it.

Re: 115th Congress: On Permanent Vacation

Well exactly, the problem is people keep acting like the republicans are trying to do anything remotely noble or disciplined on this tax bill and they have no other motive than siphoning more money from the working class to the ultra rich. When people ask, "how can they do that if they care about the deficit/small businesses/etc?", it's basically like asking how someone can rob a house without breaking any laws.

The really sad thing is though, if the Dems win the White House in 2020 the GOP will blame them for the coming economic ****storm and half the morons in this country will believe it.
The other problem too is I think there are far too many people that are against Trump and not enough of them understand that anyone else in his party would do more or less the exact same things he's doing but be slightly less obvious/bombastic about some of it. Pretty much everything that's happened since Nov. 2016 isn't solely a Trump issue, it's a Republican issue outside of a few exceptions.

The other thing to remember too is how much the media was covering the Russia story yesterday vs this bill. That really irritates me because this is something that is going to affect far more people in a meaningful way than the Russia story in which there's almost a zero percent chance of anything meaningful ever coming from it (and by that I mean Trump will serve for 4 years, I have little doubt in my mind).

Paulsen better be done. And if he is I hope this is the issue that takes him down. I would ram this **** down his throat every chance I got.

It’s gonna be a good race. My buddy is the campaign lead for Phillips and he’s quite a busy man.
Do I trust that all these morons will remember how mad they are right now? No. Still a lot of people in Edina and EP who think it’s a crime to be born not rich

No crap?!? That is awesome. Angie and I love Phillips but we live in Ellison's district. My parents live in District 3 though and we already are hammering home they need to go for Phillips or whoever runs against Paulsen.

I bet if needed Angie would love to knock on doors and help Phillips out when needed. ;)

Paulsen used to have friends amongst teachers IIRC but that eroded when he goosestepped in line with Trump.

I’m sure Zach will happily take volunteers :)
