I'm in Maryland 8th. The odds of a Republican being elected in the district and at the Senate level are slim/none.
Just change the GOP leadership. A coup works. A firing squad may be an unfortunate result.
EDIT: GOP literally evil?? I feel the same way about the Democratic leadership and many of the rank and file.

yes, wanting to take healthcare away from millions to give tax breaks to a few wealthy people is evil. Gutting the EPA and harming our environment to prop up a dying coal industry is evil. Turning your back on those suffering because they are not "Americans" is evil. Promoting tax policies that have resulted in the transfer of trillions of dollars from the middle class to the wealthy is evil. Denying science because it doesn't fit your political narrative is evil. Fighting against the rights of your gay and transgender neighbors is evil.

With the red tint overtaking the state of Michigan, and Stabenow having held the position since 2001, many in Michigan may see her as becoming out of touch with her constituants, and vote for Kid Rock purely on name recognition and to just get someone new in politics.
Plus, by running as a Republican, a win there would offset a seat flip elsewhere.
Problem is, there aren't too many Republican seats up in 2018: Just nine Republican senators compared to 23 Democrat Senators up for reelection. Kid Rock winning would seriously dent the Dems chances of a 2020 takeover.

What is Kid Rock's real name? I'm assuming that would be the one on the ballot, so that would likely offset any name recognition. Of course, the (R) next to his name will bring in a set number of votes, even if the name on the ballot was A. Hitler. Unfortunately, if Kid Rock does run, that race will probably draw as much attention as all the other Senate races combined.
