When Dems campaign, they're too caught up in the notion of bipartisanship. The old "I'll work with the GOP on blah blah blah". Ever hear Republicans say that when they're campaigning? No, you don't. Much like trusting the national media, all Dems from Obama to Hillary to people running for school board all have the outdated idea in their heads that voters reward candidates who pledge to find common ground with the other side. They don't. Voters may say that, but they don't actually vote that way.
Ossoff run a good race but he could have run a better one by attacking the entire Republican party as a corrupt enterprise akin to a cult which is only dedicated to giving tax cuts to the rich. Tar the entire brand. Running against Trump is fine (which Ossoff didn't do) but Trump stink needs to extend to the entire party. How is Paul Ryan not the most vilified man in America? Maybe because Dems don't try to hang him with his own words and budget proposals? He should be thought of in the same breath as his mentor and a predecessor as Speaker of the House, the child molesting monster Dennis Hastert. Instead we're still hearing about Nancy Pelosi, a person who hasn't held that office since Jan of 2011.
The campaign against Handel was fine but not tying her into a larger meme was a mistake. One I'd suggest Dems learn from quickly. This is why I hated to see the DNC chairmanship go to anybody aside from Howard Dean. He got this better than anybody else.
