Re: 115th Congress. In Bridge, Can Hearts be Trumped? In Spades!

Black turnout has cratered post-Obama and he's not liberal enough for the youngsters. I expect Handel to win by 3

Black turnout didn't "crater." It fell back to where it was prior to Obama, which was higher than it had been, IINM, ever before.

Black turnout tracks pretty closely with white turnout (unless, apparently, we run a black candidate). The villain of the piece is Latino turnout. White is steady around 65% and post-Obama black looks like it will sit around 60%, but Latino turnout is closer to 45%. That is the big ROI for anyone who wants to invest in it, and right now the GOP has given it gift wrapped to the Dems if we can only take it.

The ad is a little too cheesy if you ask me. Next time they need to tone down the "oh look how dramatic our music is " BS. I like the guy though and if he gets to debate Ryan it could be fun as heck to watch!

Debates don't matter. The majority of Republicans are single-issue voters - pick one: taxes, guns, or abortion

I don't think any GOP voter is single issue on taxes. That is simply the astro-turfing of the Kochs and a thousand other plute think tanks.

But abortion and guns, absolutely. Whiteness is up there, too.

Two words: Grover Norquist.

Sure, a biz lobby shill, not a human. After being sufficiently inundated with propaganda (seeding all public libraries with the complete works of Ayn Rand, for example, because you can always catch a handful of unlikable A minus students in every HS graduating class), a non-trivial number of Objectivists are grown in academic vats, but they are noise compared with the tens of millions who will march passionately for what Baby Jesus and Charlton Heston want.

MSNBC just said things aren't looking good of for Ossoff. They expected him to win Fulton and he lost by 2%.

Re: 115th Congress. In Bridge, Can Hearts be Trumped? In Spades!

$40 million was spent total on this seat. That is just nuts...

Looks like Trump will be able to pat himself on the back over this one. Hope the people of Georgia-6th dont mind having someone representing them that doesnt approve of a livable wage. ;)

Politico has live results updating every 30 seconds...Ossoff has a 50.7-49.3% lead according to them.

58,152 votes to 56,619.

(I dont know how accurate it is just a random google search)

edit: Forbes has more up to date numbers Handel leads 64,834-63,689.

Very good analysis setting the stage here.

Kos has a liveblog for each election.

Bonier, the guy write wrote the analysis above, is also tweeting so that's a good place to get in depth analysis. The tweets are sporadic however.

It looks like there are tech glitches that are making them count many precincts by hand.

As of 9:15 it does not look good for Ossoff.

OTOH, Nate Cohn has SC-05 looking good for D so far, which would be a huge upset.

so I just saw a screenshot of someone on safari mobile working with Politico's tracker. Neither of my iPhones seem to work. Aaaargh

Re: 115th Congress. In Bridge, Can Hearts be Trumped? In Spades!

Well now Ossoff just jumped out ahead by 4,000 @ 60%
