Fredonia strikes first at 10:05 against Geneseo. Jacob Haynes caught the goalie out of position for the 1-0 lead.

Fredonia scores again at 18:11 of the first on the power play for a 2-0 lead over Geneseo. A Charlie Manley slapped from the blue line.

Folks, we may have a new Best SUNYAC Pretzel winner — Geneseo. We’ll have to see how the year plays out.

It doesn’t help Brockport that their concession stand was closed the past two times I’ve been there. But hey, if you can’t come to the table...

On their first power play in the game, Geneseo finally gets on the board at 6:32 of the second. Andrew Romano chipped it in off a goal mouth scramble, cutting Fredonia's lead to 2-1.

That goal woke Geneseo up. They tied the game at 10:19 of the second. Conlan Keenan made a fantastic move around the goalie easily depositing the puck into the open net.

Geneseo is now two for two on the power play. Keenan from the slot gives Geneseo a 3-2 lead over Fredonia at 13:39.

Make that three for three on the power play as Geneseo takes a 4-2 lead. Matthew Doran with a blast from the right point at 18:44 in the second.

SNC 0-6 on the pp, including two short 5 on 3. Now 0-36 on the season on the power play.

You guessed it. Geneseo is now four for four on the power play. Tyson Empey put in a rebound at 1:18 of the third for a 5-2 lead.

Geneseo defeats Fredonia, 5-2.

Ironically, Geneseo did not score on a major penalty. Though, committing a minor during that time did not help.

Elmira beats Utica 4-2. Amazing how good they look with solid goaltending which they haven’t had for a long time.

I'm already starting to feel nostalgic about this Geneseo class of 2020. I'm thinking this must have been the best group recruits in the country in 2016. Incredible talent that has really blossomed under the Geneseo coaching staff.

I would imagine there will come a time when teams start to realize YOU CANT TAKE PENALTIES vs Genny...
