Tommaso Traversa gave Hobart a 1-0 lead at 8:38 on a scramble in front of the net.

Utica answered back at 14:41 when Trever Hertz deflected a shot from the point by Cody Adams.

The Hobart retook the lead 2-1 at 18:24 on the power play with a score by Brad Richards.
