#1 Quinnipiac University vs. #13 St. Cloud State- Frozen Four Semifinal #2 4/11

Re: #1 Quinnipiac University vs. #13 St. Cloud State- Frozen Four Semifinal #2 4/11

Oldest...and by a pretty big margin. In fact, Quinnipiac was the oldest team on average in the entire tournament. BC was nearly 2 years younger on average than Quinnipiac.

BC - 20 years, 11 months
Minnesota - 21 years, 1 month
Denver - 21 years, 5 months
Wisconsin - 21 years, 6 months
Miami - 21 years, 7 months
UND - 21 years, 8 months
Notre Dame - 21 years, 8 months
Yale - 21 years, 9 months
UNH - 21 years, 10 months
SCSU - 21 years, 10 months
Lowell - 22 years, 1 month
Union - 22 years, 2 months
Canisius - 22 years, 2 months
Mankato - 22 years, 5 months
Niagara - 22 years, 7 months
QU - 22 years, 10 months

No way the graphic could be wrong?
QU has 14 players 22 or under, and 13 23 or older, doesn't bode well to have their average age be under 22, especially when out of those 14 that are 22 or under, just 3 are under 21.

This matchup comparison agrees with Mile High.

All I know is, if the Huskies win the ship, I'm rioting St. Cloud. I'm talking Vancouver style. GO HUSKIES!!!!

/dusts off the cobwebs

I got to see the FF last year down here in Florida. Amazement wouldn't be the right word for me as far as SCSU and the FF this year, but I'm glad to see the Huskies have finally made it.

Oh and I will also be up in Pittsburgh for the FF. Very excited!

"Western" college hockey teams [teams not in the original 13 colonies] have but one representative in this year's Frozen Four despite endless claims of the inferiority of eastern teams and conferences. The sole "western" team in the 4 is certainly not one of the purportedly superior midwest "power programs" [top draft picks-early departures] - nor are any of the three eastern teams. This could be an anomaly - OR - it could be a key to success in the future.
This year an abnormally large number of fans may try to resurrect past glories watching videos of past playoffs rather than viewing live playoffs. This is unlikely to have much influence upon ongoing changes in college hockey.
