BU's Escobedo hits DeSimone from behind and has left the ice... UNH 5x3 for 1:43. Big moment here for both teams.

Escobedo gets 5:00 and is out of the game. Game Misconduct.

Oh wait. Escobedo, not Santana. Sorry. The penalty clock guy was very slow getting that up on the board.

UNH with lots of shots but no rebounds... did not like the quality of chances on the 5x3... shots came from way too far out and/or poor angles. Good of Millan not to give up rebounds. Tough stretch for BU. 2:00 still left on the PP to Escobedo.

Nice work, UNH... what the hell was that?? Complete crap. Totally botched the 5x3 and then with still 2:20 of 5x4, BU actually had the better chance to score. GRRRR!

Glad to have the 2-1 lead at the end of 1, but BU has to be pretty energized after that huge 3x5 kill and also the rest of the Escobedo penalty.

Welcome, Deano! Good start to the period.... but UNH botched a huge opportunity to go up at least 3-1 (if not 4) after Sean Escobedo hit DeSimone from behind and got a game misconduct major while UNH was already on the PP. We had a 5x3 for 1:43 and did NOTHING with it at all. The final 2:20 of PP time was also wasted. A few good shots on the 5x3 but the were largely from far out... poor.

Ya, we did that last week against UMass and it didn't work out all the well. Hopefully tonight is different.

Skating has been good and I really like that Soph line... they have been giving BU fits in their defensive end with excellent forechecking.

Yeah, he was fine. I don't think he missed a shift. Luckily he was fairly close to the boards so there was not that dangerous 2-3 foot gap that can really be bad news when a guy gets smoked from behind and he goes flying head first into the boards. Escobedo got him good, but the boards caught him before his head/shoulders lowered going forward.
