Elmira didn't win, did it? The top end MASCAC can give anyone a good game.Elmira outshot Fitchburg 48-16 (tho I thought I remember hearing 51 or 52)...either way, its not like Fitchburg was very good. Norwich will have no problem tonight....7-1 final...
WOW dont remember seeing 7 ppg's in a game...Im sure Norm will find a link for more than thatCastleton's Josh Harris was their poster child tonight - but in all fairness, Potsdam took 13 for 42 to Castleton's 10 for 31. 7 of Castleton's 9 goals were on the power play.

When Salem State shut out St. Norbert, it was 18 skaters working their butts off and outplaying SNC. The SSC goalie may have gotten the shut out, but to say that he stole the game is a disservice to the rest of the team.Thats why their 3 NC wins against Non NE10 or ECAC NE teams have a winning % of around .380 and thats inflated by a NEC team that is much over rated. Sorry but 9 out of 10 times a MASCAC team plays someone NOT from the NE10 or ECAC NE they get outplayed, out shot and out everything. They do come up with some great goaltender games, but for the most part no, the teams do not give anyone a good game, their goaltenders do.
Final from Utica: UC 7 - Curry 3.
Game started out chippy and only got worse.
Curry takes a bench penalty at end of game for not shaking hands (or that is what I assumed happened as they did not line up for handshakes and they got a bench penalty).
Pretty sure the Curry coach flipped the Utica Coach the bird after the game. They met at center ice and I don't think they arranged to go out for coffee and desert after the game.

I would also point out that SSU was an overtime flub away from going undefeated vs. the ECAC-E last year. That was not the goaltender, it was the team. UMD does not rely on the goaltender, either.
A team is as only as good as the goalie behind them and a goalie is only as good as the team in front of him.
