@Joe_Putrelo: #BREAKING: 11 days ago, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School experienced an unspeakable shooting tragedy that left 17 people dead and many others injured. Today its varsity hockey program is state champions. Eagles win 7-4 over Jesuit at Germain Arena. @NBC2

Re: 0 Days Since Last Shooting: Reset The Calendar Again

There are enough Florida high schools that have varsity hockey to have state championships? That says more about the # of Midwesterners and New Englanders that move south than anything else.

It's non varsity under the auspices of USA Hockey.

We have 52 USA Hockey HS teams in Maryland.

With the Panthers in town, wouldn't surprise me.

Draft dodger in chief says he would have run into the school even if he didn't have a gun.

Re: 0 Days Since Last Shooting: Reset The Calendar Again

Draft dodger in chief says he would have run into the school even if he didn't have a gun.

He also believes that he can do something about bump stocks with executive action. He can't. The ATF has already stated that due to the current definition of automatic vs. semi-automatic bump stocks do not "legally or technically" make a semi-auto an automatic weapon. Thus, there is nothing they can do without new legislation.

I believe I heard it had something to do with automatics being defined as firing two bullets at one time (pull). Even with a bump stock the semi-auto only fires one bullet per pull.

As far as my understanding, bump stocks only increase the rate of fire (how fast you can shoot that one pull/one bullet). Therein lies the problem, so unless it's new legislation, which you stated, nothing can really be done. :(

Correct. They allow you to pull the trigger faster and without breaks. Nothing more, nothing less.

My understanding is the recoil pulls the trigger not the person shooting, hence the name.

Makings of a false flag attack. Could other "cowards" be pronounced not guilty under the guise of following orders?

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">"Everything I was trained on mass casualty events says they did the wrong thing." I spoke with a seasoned emergency medical responder who was one of the first to the Stoneman shooting. He doesn't want me using his name for fear he will get fired. Here are his exact quotes. <a href="https://twitter.com/wsvn?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@wsvn</a> <a href="https://t.co/t9trsOEaek">pic.twitter.com/t9trsOEaek</a></p>— Brian Entin (@BrianEntin) <a href="https://twitter.com/BrianEntin/status/967462188888838144?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">February 24, 2018</a></blockquote>

That's more in line with my understanding. The bump stock effectively reduce the trigger pull time to zero. It takes the human element out thereby increasing speed.

1) Pull trigger
2) Recoil of the shot pushes buttstock into shooter's shoulder
3) "bump stock" uses a spring action to push gun away from shoulder forcing another trigger pull
4) Repeat until empty

Re: 0 Days Since Last Shooting: Reset The Calendar Again

Matt Bevins says, among other things, that "culture" and "lack of morals" is contributing to these mass shootings. He's correct, of course, just not for the reasons he thinks.
