No, seriously. You're the one stretching the bounds of credulity. If he had hidden a knife instead of a gun, would the kid still have been shot?

Just answer the friggin' question. Be honest and straightforward here. After all, you want honest and straightforward debate on the subject.

No he wouldn't have been shot. Duh. You're asking ridiculous questions here.

Now we're gettin' somewhere.

Let's advance this dialogue a little further. If there isn't a gun in the house, the chances of a little child there finding it and shooting themselves with it are drastically diminished. Yes or no?

Again, a ridiculous question, because:

IF the person is responsible and safety conscious, which I have been stressing all along, that kid isn't shooting himself. Do you understand that?

You do not know that to absolute certainty. if a kid wants to get into something, they're gonna find a way to get into it. Ask any parent

And it only takes one lapse, one mistake. How many responsible and safety conscious gun owners have shot themselves cleaning their own weapons?

Yes, like my brother who owns a gun, keeps it in a safe, only he knows the code (his fiancee doesn't even know the code) has 2 daughters....that gun is locked the eff up.

Lemme get you more straws for you to grasp.

Re: 0 Days Since Last Shooting: But the Second Amendment!

Wow, one guy makes the whole argument. Case closed. Winner by anecdote.

Re: 0 Days Since Last Shooting: But the Second Amendment!

Keep being irrational. There are many more out there like him.

And probably ten times not like him.

I say no gun in the house makes less chance of a kid finding it and shooting himself, and I'm the irrational one. That's where we stand on the debate today.

Yes, you are irrational because there is zero chance guns disappear in this country without a major military operation in place. It's just not feasible. We can LIMIT the amount of guns (5Major's post highlighted some things earlier) but Banz All Gunz is not happening. And that seems to be your stance.

I mean, heck, if the kid found a hammer instead of a knife, then no stabbing, right? Or if he found a Nerf ball instead of a hammer, he'd have no injury whatsoever, right? Talk about herpaderp.

Well ain't that the reason mommy waits for the school bus at the end of the driveway with little junior? God forbid any harm come to little junior.

Re: 0 Days Since Last Shooting: But the Second Amendment!

The 7 year old could have stolen the gun just like the high schooler in Santee Fe. The gun is the problem. No gun, no shooting happens.

If that 7YO could have cracked the code on a safe, and stolen the gun, then you might have a point. Again, think this through.

Re: 0 Days Since Last Shooting: But the Second Amendment!

No gun no shooting.

Banz The Gunz won't happen. So responsible gun ownership is the key. But that is not good enough for you and rufus. You are as irrational as the "tricked out gold plated AR-15 gub'ment ain't taking my guns" crowd.

Re: 0 Days Since Last Shooting: But the Second Amendment!

JFC, you guys are arguing semantics. If there is no gun there is no shooting. If there isn't a dumb*** leaving it where a 7 year old has access, there is no shooting.
