UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

Never mind, I forgot Wakely spent all of 24-25 in Barrie. They've never played together.

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

I have to imagine Wakely played a part in getting Wellenreiter to Lowell. They played together two seasons ago in North Bay.

UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

Owen Murray also just reported that ASU defenseman Anthony Dowd is transferring to Lowell. Right-shot D with 1 YOE remaining. Listed as very undersized at 5'7" and had 0-4-4 in 27 games last season.

UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

According to Tyler Young (yes, the Tyler Young on Nodak), the Buttazzoni brothers are heading to Sacred Heart. I've gotten a kick out of him and Owen Murray reporting on player transfers today on twitter.

Nice. Almost a PPG in the USHL always gives me hope. Wonder if he'll join this season or do his last YOE in juniors.

UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

Gonna be a long day for Boschetto and Darrow, lol. Hope there's plenty of coffee for them as they comb through this portal. Only departure that surprises me so far is Parks. Best of luck to all of them wherever they end up.

No surprise with the Natty result yesterday. That program is something else. Now we wait and see what the damage is tomorrow 😅

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

According to Sydney Wolf and the Sioux Falls Stampede website, their captain, Joe McGraw, has committed to Lowell. 2005 6'1" right-shot forward had 13-20-33 in 49 GP during the regular season, and captained the Stampede to the second best record in the USHL. According to Wolf, he was previously...

Yup. I'm almost more interested in the portal opening on Monday than the frozen four, lol.

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

Misha Volotovskii has committed to Lowell for next season. 6'2" 2005-born left-shot forward had 17-17-34 in 61 games split between Medicine Hat and the Vancouver Giants this year. After getting traded to Vancouver his production dropped off but they were also one of the worst teams in the WHL...

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

I have a feeling Abzal Alibek has decommitted. NAHL website and EP no longer have him committed anywhere. Still on Heisenberg's list though.

UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

From the freshman class, I'm hoping we're at least able to keep Misskey, Diego, Adaszynski, and Wakely. I thought those four showed the most growth and potential.

UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

Growing up in the area and playing hockey, my dad started taking me to UML games in the early 2010s right before the Hellebuyck era. I will never forget being in the Garden and watching his performance against BU in the 2013 HE championship, and watching yesterday's game was like traveling back...

UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

They were both very atrocious. Let's not pretend that 8 goals against on 20 shots is the offense's fault.

Wow..... just wow. Let's throw Goich in next weekend and see what happens. Those two ain't cutting it.

This goalie duo is killing me, man. Neither of them want to step it up.

Nice piece about Parks in that article. The points haven't always come easy for him like they did in the USHL but he's grown into one of their better 200 foot players. I remember how overwhelmed he looked in his first few games and now he looks confident in all situations. Hoping he stays.

UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

Another heart-breaker. I agree with what Norm said last week. It's not for a lack of effort as much as it is a lack of awareness and experience on some key plays. As much as I want to say you also need a couple more saves from Elliott, three of those goals don't even become opportunities if the...

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

I just hope the coaches are doing their due diligence and already gauging who's staying and going. They really can't afford to get caught off guard with a ton of guys hitting the portal and not having a plan in place. Boschetto seems to have a good grasp on the current state of college...
