Merrimack College: 2026 Hockey East Champions

That's a pretty good retention rate! Too bad that Wallstrom is leaving. Would have liked to see him get a shot at taking over for Lundgren. Other than Nordberg (headed to ASU I believe) of the group that is leaving, the only one I saw play was Richard who transferred in from Niagara. Good...

    CHL to NCAA Recruiting Megathread

Gavin's dad Mark was a very good player at Merrimack. Would have liked to see him in Blue and Gold. Good for UMass.

No "end-over-end" piano at that one, but the revolving drum stage was quite impressive (remember, from a special effects standpoint, we're still talking about 1973).

Add Nils Wallstrom (Merrimack) to the list of those with 1 year remaining. He was good a couple years ago at AIC, but Max Lundberg took the net at 'Mack and never let it go.

December 10th, 1973, Boston Garden. I still have the Globe review by Ernie Santosuosso. Talks about Palmer's massive 2 1/2 ton percussion setup ($35,000....imagine!) all set upon a revolving rostrum. To this day, perhaps the best concert I have ever seen. Over 15,500 at the "Gahden"!

Early indications are that the core group of players are returning (including Justin Gill for his sophomore/final year of eligibility ;)). Will be very interesting to see where the coaches put them in the preseason poll next year.

Yikes! That's a a name from the past. The BC posters were absolutely merciless with him! 🤣

UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

Djurasevic transferred from Merrimack to Maine because he thought it would help him become more pro ready. I guess it worked out for him?

JB, would you mind posting a link to the overall 2026 Heisenberg list? I can't find it anywhere. Appreciate it.

Fantastic! Certainly did not expect him back for his Sr. season, so this is great for him. Will be interesting to see the Bruins and Providence Bruins goalie situation next year. DiPietro has bee outstanding in Providence and could very well be the B's backup next year if they let Korpisalo...

Merrimack College: 2026 Hockey East Champions

Upon further review, maybe Merrimack was the 2nd best team in that Region. They'd beaten PC in the HE playoffs, and had beaten QU earlier in the season, 4-1. Okay, now who do I root for? Both UND and Western Michigan have former Merrimack players (Tyler Young and Zach Bookman respectively)...

Stonehill and/or LIU would be logical additions to bring Atlantic Hockey to 10 or 11 members. Works well geographically.

BU Hockey '25-'26: Can we keep up the run to Vegas?

Feel bad for the Huskies. 92 shots in their last 2 games, and the opposing goalies saved 90! Lundgren has a career game in the HE Final, and then they get Trey Augustine. Yikes!

Merrimack College: 2026 Hockey East Champions

I knew it would be a tall task to try and take out the #2 team in the Country playing a de facto home game. Looked for a while that the moment was too big. ND scored on a juicy rebound (Max hadn't given that up in a while), and I thought, wow, MC's in big trouble. There were times that it...

Gotta feel for the Huskies. Lundgren comes up with a career game in the HE Final, and then they get Trey Augustine? Yikes!

Took a while for the Minutemen to hit their stride this year, but boy they were terrific in the 2nd half of the season. Good luck to Hrabel (and IIRC, your backup filled in pretty well when Hrabel was out). Really enjoy watching Musa, he is a heck of a player!

So I guess it's not just the Merrimack student newspaper that can't get it right! Scarlet, went to the Bruins game last night, up in the balcony, with a perfect view of the Hockey East Championship banner. What a beautiful sight!
