    2025-26 Division III Women's Hockey

I haven't witnessed any of the games myself, but Norwich defeated Suffolk 8-1 and Plymouth 2-0 in exhibition games. Interestingly, the Plymouth scrimmage was closed to the public? Not sure I have seen that before for a D3 vs D3 game. Big test for the Cadets right out of the gate at Plattsburgh...

Norwich Hockey - Time to Regroup

That tended to be the case when Norwich went back to back years in 2011 and 2012 I think? The first year there had to be close to 500 or more Norwich fans there and it was easily double the amount of Dartmouth fans.

Norwich Hockey - Time to Regroup

Physical was something that I believe Coach Ellsworth's teams shied away from because of generally the only thing that resulted from them was penalties in his my IIRC. I could have that wrong, but I thought I remember that being a common theme or philosophy was to always be in the right...

    2025-26 Division III Women's Hockey

This is one the toughest times that exist in collegiate sports for athletic comm. departments. The fall to winter crossover is brutal. Most "bigger" athletic departments have about 15 teams going right now with fall winding down and winter getting going. Tough to put the resources into covering...

    2025-2026 Little East

Middlebury is an awesome rink. I've seen it jam packed too, which it hasn't been in over a decade. It was pretty freaking cool to see that place packed to the gills and a huge student section. It's just a little bit "stale" with the banner setup in comparison to how Norwich does it at...

    2025-2026 Little East

Norwich last I knew was not even remotely interested in GNAC hockey. I doubt the league would form without six members either to have the AQ bid.

    2025-2026 Little East

I know nothing about this year's team. The players that are seniors now were not at Norwich yet when I last worked there. Based on history, I would agree that Norwich would likely be a tri-favorite with Babson and Plymouth coming into the season. I would be somewhat surprised if it wasn't one...

    NESCAC 2025-2026: Don't Call it a Comeback

I have it on good authority that Sinclair was the #3 choice but the two in front of him turned it down for various reasons. Midd was already in a downward spiral, but Neil certainly couldn't get anything going to right the ship. I do know there was very little if any emphasis placed on hockey...

    25-26 Schedules

That's literally how every voter poll has worked at every level for years though. it's the same reason why Alabama, Clemson nd Notre Dame are ranked in the preseason football poll every year and Duke, North Carolina, Kansas, Kentucky are ranked in the hoops preseason poll every year.

St. Thomas making quick transition in Div I

Not completely surprising. St. Thomas was always a well-resourced institution located in a large city in comparison to what a majority of D3 schools have and exist in. I believe they are building a rink, which will be a huge recruiting push for them too. maybe they are already in it?

HOBART HOCKEY 2025-2026 REIGNING THREE -PEAT D3 HOCKEY CHAMPIONS

They've got it going there right now for sure...legitimately in the mix for a fourth in a row as they've still got the terrific goalie tandem and what looks to be another loaded lineup of forwards and defense.

    2025-2026 Little East

I also see Keene State being a factor sooner rather than later. Not saying they are competing for LEC title year 1 or 2, but I don’t think it will be long.

Norwich Hockey - Time to Regroup

This sounded more like a shot at the Athletic Director Ed Hockenbury, who was a high school AD at Essex and South Burlington prior to serving as an AD at UVM.

    2025-26 Division III Women's Hockey

Time to flip the script to 2025-26. Students are all on campus now. Official "non-traditional" season practices kick up this month. Hit the ice for real in about a month. It will be here soon.

    25-26 Schedules

Remember these schools make decisions 18 months to 2 years in advance of when they start playing in new league. The NEHC wasn’t collapsing at that time and I’m pretty sure LEC hadn’t even been announced yet. Salve gets into Newmac so needs to find home for hockey since Newmac didn’t have it...

    D3 Tournament Changes

all of these things are true. But the school has to be willing to do all the work to do all the game day operations and the planning/man power etc. behind putting on a successful event. Is that something the Elmira Athletic Dept. is willing to take on with spring sports all going full bore at...

    D3 Tournament Changes

And perception of one tournament being "lesser" or the "sideshow" to the other...which I truly feel would not be the case. But maybe I'm naive.

    D3 Tournament Changes

I liked the pre-determined sites for the men. I also thought there were some fun environments on campus. Stevens Point especially was awesome.

    D3 Tournament Changes

I'm really curious about the neutral sites on the women's side. I don't know how many places are going to signing up to host that every year. UWRF surely will. Maybe a Plattsburgh on the women's side...not sure how many others will be jumping to the front of that line. It CAN work in the...
